THE GLORY OF THE KING

I will meditate on your majestic, glorious splendor and your wonderful miracles. —Psalm 145:5

He feeds every living creature every second, every minute, every hour, every day, every week, every month, every year, every decade, every century, every millennial and until time is no more. He gives breath to every living creature every second, every minute, every hour, every day, every week, every month, every year, every decade, every century, every millennial and until time is no more. He causes night and day in their rotations every second, every minute, every hour, every day, every week, every month, every year, every decade, every century, every millennial and until time is no more. He keeps the stars in their positions every second, every minute, every hour, every day, every week, every month, every year, every decade, every century, every millennial and until time is no more. He gets His gospel out though His people every second, every minute, every hour, every day, every week, every month, every year, every decade, every century, every millennial and until time is no more. Dear Father, thank You for understanding that You are the One Who keeps all things held together through Your Glorious Son. Oh, I do look forward to Heaven to be with Jesus and all who love Him. May I be faithful to You until them. May it be so!

DIE TO SELF AND SERVE!

So whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God. Don’t give offense to Jews or Gentiles or the church of God. I, too, try to please everyone in everything I do. I don’t just do what is best for me; I do what is best for others so that many may be saved. —I Corinthians 10:31-33

Do I seek to just do what is best for me or do I seek what is best for others that they may trust the Lord Jesus Christ? How do you and I serve others and do we do so out of loving gratitude to our Lord Jesus? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9qHii1MC95I

Today, may you and I seek to serve others for the glory of God and their benefit. Dear Father, may this be so in the authority of Jesus and by the Holy Spirit’s power. May I die to self and live to serve others for Your honor and glory.

LISTEN AND OBEY!

These things happened to them as examples for us. They were written down to warn us who live at the end of the age. —I Corinthians 10:11

Such things were written in the Scriptures long ago to teach us. And the Scriptures give us hope and encouragement as we wait patiently for God’s promises to be fulfilled. —Romans 15:4

God’s Word has examples for us to warn us. His Word teaches us. His Word gives us hope. His Word gives us encouragement. His Word will be fulfilled. Followers of Jesus are to be patient. This will happen. We are heed the warnings, learn, have hope and be encouraged. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DkHqaBxPoAM&list=PLKYBweMzuOpuCoxDusndrTXtdapHDaxew&index=1

Is there a warning in God’s Word that you are to be heeding today? What is it that God is seeking to teach you from His Word today? Are you allowing His Word to give you hope? How has His Word encouraged you? Are you patiently waiting for God’s promises to be fulfilled?

His Word gives us all we need (II Timothy 3:16-17). Those who follow the Lord God Almighty desire His Word to truly live (Matthew 4:4). His Word is more precious to them than gold (Psalm 19:9-10). They seek to hear from Him to be wise and able to serve others (Isaiah 50:4). His Word is truth and light and they realize this and seek to share that truth and light with others (Psalm 119:105, 130).

Today, listen to what He has said to you as you sat at His feet. That is the one thing that is needed (Luke 10:39, 42). Listen to what He has to say, but then we need to act on what’s said. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XIpnW3rtRQ4&list=PLKYBweMzuOpuCoxDusndrTXtdapHDaxew&index=7

Dear Father, may I be faithful in listening to what You are saying to me and be obedient out of loving gratitude. May this be so in the power of the Holy Spirit, bearing His fruit, and in the authority of Jesus as He has sent me. May it be so!

GIVE THANKS!

Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good! His faithful love endures forever. —Psalm 136:1

Fellow follower of Jesus we are told that God’s love endures forever. We have so much to thank Him for. I am so thankful that He has given us His Word!

I was singing a song to my grand-daughter yesterday as I was swinging her on her swing. Making up the song as I went along I sang about knowing His existence, His awesomeness, His power and vastness by looking at what He created (Psalm 19:1-4; Romans 1:20). But, I could not have relationship with Him without His Word. I could know He created the grass and trees, the flower and bees, the birds and fish, all animals and sky, but I could not know Him without His Word. I could know He created the sun and sky, the moon and stars, but without His Word I could not know Him. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NUy3yaSd9b0 How I thank God for His Son, for His Spirit, for His Word that I can know Him and make Him known! Yes His love is so great and we have much to thank Him for! Thank You, Lord God Almighty for communicating to me! Thank You also for Your awesome Creation You created so we could enjoy it!

Thank You, Father for Your great love for me. This is astounding, wonderful and so comforting. Out of sincere gratitude may I be what You desire and serve in whatever way You desire me to. May it be so in the authority of Jesus and by the Holy Spirit’s power.

NONE GREATER! NONE!

I know the greatness of the Lord— that our Lord is greater than any other god. The Lord does whatever pleases him throughout all heaven and earth, and on the seas and in their depths. He causes the clouds to rise over the whole earth. He sends the lightning with the rain and releases the wind from his storehouses. He destroyed the firstborn in each Egyptian home, both people and animals. He performed miraculous signs and wonders in Egypt against Pharaoh and all his people. He struck down great nations and slaughtered mighty kings—Sihon king of the Amorites, Og king of Bashan, and all the kings of Canaan. He gave their land as an inheritance, a special possession to his people Israel. —Psalm 135:5-12 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xi0yLRX4d2M

There is no other god like Him… none (II Samuel 7:22; I Chronicles 17:20; Psalm 86:8; Jeremiah 10:6). Our Lord God Almighty is Sovereign of ALL things! He does whatever He pleases and nobody can stay His hand… nobody. He tells the winds to stop and the sea to become calm and they obey (Mark 4:38). He guides a fish to swallow a man and then spit him up near land and it obeys (Jonah 1:17, 2:10). He commands the weather to accomplish His will (Job 37:13). He sends plagues and judgments to accomplish His desires (Exodus 7-12). He who causes light to “shine out of darkness,” made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of God’s glory displayed in the face of Christ” II Corinthians 4:6).There is none like Him… none! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UWndDW_271g Let us rejoice, fellow follower of Jesus that He has allowed us to know Him.

Dear Father, You can do anything You want. May I trust You for all things regardless of how I think or feel about them. May I do so in the authority of Jesus and by the Holy Spirit’s power.

YOU ARE CALLED TO BE A SOWER!

Those who plant in tears will harvest with shouts of joy. They weep as they go to plant their seed, but they sing as they return with the harvest. —Psalm 126:5-6
Each of us did the work the Lord gave us. I planted the seed in your hearts, and Apollos watered it, but it was God who made it grow. It’s not important who does the planting, or who does the watering. What’s important is that God makes the seed grow. The one who plants and the one who waters work together with the same purpose. And both will be rewarded for their own hard work (I Corinthians 3:5-8).

Fellow follower of Jesus we are called to be witness (Acts 1:8), Jesus’ witnesses— planting and watering. How’s the farming going? Have you been planting and watering with expectation? Do you and I truly think about the lost? Do we sorrow at their lost condition? Sorrowing over them is good if only we are seeking to share God’s Word with them. This is what sorrow for them should lead us to. Unsown and unwatered seed won’t sprout. God has called us to plant and water— He will cause it to sprout. So let us be planting and watering with expectation the seed, at least some of it, will sprout and bear fruit!

So, who is it the Lord would have you bear witness of Him today? May we be sensitive to those we have known for some time and to those we have just met. Here’s an example from my own life— I was out to lunch with a friend this week and had the opportunity to talk with the waitress, Hannah. I asked her if she ever heard what Jesus did for her. She said, “No” and was listening. I shared the gospel with her briefly and gave her something to read.

Hannah had lived in Manchester, NH all her life and said that she had never heard the gospel before… never! We may often think it is the people far away in some tribal group of a distant nation that are the ones who have never heard the gospel and that is true, but there are those right around us where we live that have never heard as well. I dare say the vast majority children and youth growing up today in the U.S. have not heard the gospel. Hannah was one of those younger people. May we share the gospel with all we can! That is part of being a faithful disciple of Jesus who has a heart to see others become faithful disciples as well.

Dear Father, help me to be sensitive to those I come into contact with today and share the gospel with them. Be pleased to cause the planted and watered seed to grow. This is what You do. May I be faithful in my part so in the authority of Jesus and by the power of the Holy Spirit.

HONOR GOD

Don’t you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? You do not belong to yourself, for God bought you with a high price. So you must honor God with your body. —I Corinthians 6:19-20

Fellow follower of Jesus, you are not your own! God bought you through the precious blood of the Lord Jesus. Indeed that was a very high price! You and I belong to Him. He is our Master and we are His servants. Delighted we should be that we are His!

The Son and the Holy Spirit were given as gifts to us. There was nothing we could do to earn or deserve them. When we received the gift of eternal life through Jesus (Romans 6:23) we were “baptized into one body by one Spirit, and we all share the same Spirit” (I Corinthians 12:13) when we believed (Ephesians 1:13; 4:30).

So the questions I need to ask myself are these: Am I taking care of this body by getting enough physical exercise? Am I taking care of this body by getting enough mental stimulation? Am I taking care of this body by having spiritual intake and output?

Is my life vibrant like the Sea of Galilee— full of life? Or is it more like the Dead Sea— stagnant with no life? A key to a vibrant life walk with Jesus is to have at least one inlet and at least one outlet like the Sea of Galilee. Not like the Dead Sea which only has an inlet. Let us receive and give and not just receive! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jAWcrEO-RVw

Dear Father, may I allow the Holy Spirit to fill me and flow through me to have a positive impact on others. Oh, that I would honor You with this body You have made me a steward over. May it be so in the authority of Jesus and by the Holy Spirit’s power.

LIVE HOLY LIVES!

When I wrote to you before, I told you not to associate with people who indulge in sexual sin. But I wasn’t talking about unbelievers who indulge in sexual sin, or are greedy, or cheat people, or worship idols. You would have to leave this world to avoid people like that. I meant that you are not to associate with anyone who claims to be a believer yet indulges in sexual sin, or is greedy, or worships idols, or is abusive, or is a drunkard, or cheats people. Don’t even eat with such people. It isn’t my responsibility to judge outsiders, but it certainly is your responsibility to judge those inside the church who are sinning. God will judge those on the outside; but as the Scriptures say, “You must remove the evil person from among you.”— I Corinthians 5:9-13

Now here is a challenging passage in many ways. First, we are to associate with the lost of this world who are involved in sinful practices of various sorts. They need to hear the good news! Second, we are not to associate, not even eat with someone “who claims to be a believer yet indulges in sexual sin, or is greedy, or worships idols, or is abusive, or is a drunkard, or cheats people.” The church is filled with people in process, but we are to seek to be holy as the Lord has said— “just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do” (I Peter 1:15). Third, “It isn’t my responsibility to judge outsiders, but it certainly is your responsibility to judge those inside the church who are sinning. God will judge those on the outside; but as the Scriptures say, “You must remove the evil person from among you.” Yes, the church is responsible to make judgments in the sense of deciding to remove a person from the fellowship who claims to be a believer and yet “indulges in sexual sin, or is greedy, or worships idols, or is abusive, or is a drunkard, or cheats people.” Yes, those claiming to be a believer and yet are living a sinful lifestyle need to be addressed. This is what God’s Word tells us. Fourth, we are told not even to eat with this person that claims to be a believer. This whole direction the church must take is to encourage repentance in the wayward person that they would truly follow the Lord and seek to be holy… as all those claiming Christ are to be doing!

Dear Father, help me to live a holy life in the power of the Holy Spirit. I know I am not any better than anyone else. It is all about what You have done in my life. May I love and live in the authority of Jesus and be and do what He desires. May it be so! http://biblehub.com/greek/3687.htm

WHAT COUNTS IS WHAT GOD SAYS, NOT MAN!

You made me; you created me. Now give me the sense to follow your commands. —Psalm 119:73 https://youtu.be/lSRcPCGRmXY?t=616 (through 13:38)

Now, brothers and sisters, I have applied these things to myself and Apollos for your benefit, so that you may learn from us the meaning of the saying, “Do not go beyond what is written.” Then you will not be puffed up in being a follower of one of us over against the other. —I Corinthians 4:6 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uuDI-sk2nJU

God created you and me for Himself, not to rebel against Him, but to be in fellowship with Him. We must cling to His Word and be obedient to be in fellowship with Him. “And we can be sure that we know him if we obey his commandments. If someone claims, “I know God,” but doesn’t obey God’s commandments, that person is a liar and is not living in the truth. But those who obey God’s word truly show how completely they love him. That is how we know we are living in him. Those who say they live in God should live their lives as Jesus did” (I John 2:3-6). “This is the message we heard from Jesus and now declare to you: God is light, and there is no darkness in him at all. So we are lying if we say we have fellowship with God but go on living in spiritual darkness; we are not practicing the truth. But if we are living in the light, as God is in the light, then we have fellowship with each other, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, cleanses us from all sin” (I John 1:5-7). May you and I have the sense to follow His commands. He truly has our best interests in mind.

Oh, that we would not go beyond what His Word says. There are those who bring in teaching that is not from God’s Word. According to the verses above when a person goes beyond what it written in God’s Word then they become a follower of the person that is promoting the unwritten teaching. This is a dangerous place to be and those who do it now become followers of man and not followers of God— even though they claim to be followers of God. They are following man’s teaching. Sincere followers of God will cling to His Word. It is what God says that is important, not man’s word. May we be lovingly obedient follows of our King Jesus!

Dear Father, help me to know what You have to say and be obedient to what You have to say. Oh, may this be the case in the authority of Jesus and by the Holy Spirit’s power. Yes, so be it! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=

THE RIGHT BUILDING MATERIALS

Because of God’s grace to me, I have laid the foundation like an expert builder. Now others are building on it. But whoever is building on this foundation must be very careful. For no one can lay any foundation other than the one we already have—Jesus Christ. Anyone who builds on that foundation may use a variety of materials—gold, silver, jewels, wood, hay, or straw. But on the judgment day, fire will reveal what kind of work each builder has done. The fire will show if a person’s work has any value. If the work survives, that builder will receive a reward. But if the work is burned up, the builder will suffer great loss. The builder will be saved, but like someone barely escaping through a wall of flames. —I Corinthians 3:10-15

How are you building? What are you building with? Who are you building on? Will your work pass God’s judgment? These are important questions to reflect upon.

Jesus is not only the cornerstone (Ephesians 2:20; I Peter 2:6) from which the building (a life) is determined, but He is also the foundation that is to support what is being built (a life). If He is not the Determiner or the Supporter of the building (a life), then that building (a life) is not being built on the right foundation. All other foundations are faulty and lead to eternal destruction.

When a person is building on the Right Foundation, then they also have to build with the right materials— gold, silver, jewels will past the judgment. Wood, hay or straw will be burned up. Only the work done for the glory of God will past the test. All others will fail. What materials are we building with?

So, who are we seeking to glorify with our service, God or man? Paul said, “Obviously, I’m not trying to win the approval of people, but of God. If pleasing people were my goal, I would not be Christ’s servant” (Galatians 1:10). Instead of seeking to please people, let us “obey him and do the things that please him” (I John 3:22). Let us build in obedience to the Lord God Almighty, seeking to please Him above all. So be it! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zC617kE1maU&index=69&list=PLcHqC9YNzSaD-O-rkP9o8hDA9jJ_oja4l

Dear Father, may I seek to be and to serve to please You, not man. May that be my main goal in life. Oh, be please to bear much fruit through my life that I may bring glory to You Name. May it be so in the authority of Jesus and by the Holy Spirit’s power.
