“Yes, I am coming soon.” Amen. Come, Lord Jesus. —Revelation 22:20

What excites us? The football game is on soon? I’m going to get a message soon? Payday? Spring? Vacation? A new baby?

Does the fact that Jesus is returning soon excite you? His coming could be in our life time! We are given signs to be looking for and they are definitely increasing (Matthew 24). Yes we are getting closer. Even so come Lord Jesus. May we be found faithful when we meet Him at His coming or through death!
Dear Father, the sun rises for another day. Oh may the day when Jesus’ glory pierces the day be not far off. But, whether I am alive and meet Him or die to meet Him, may I hear “Well done, good and faithful servant.” That is my desire.

“Look, I will come as unexpectedly as a thief! Blessed are all who are watching for me… —Revelation 15:15

Jesus came that first Christmas as a baby and was born in a manger. He was the Lamb that would be slain on the cross for our sins. He did not travel very far from His earthly home while He lived on earth. He was not known by much of the world’s population during His life on this planet. The next time He comes He will be coming as a Lion to judge this world and none will ignore or escape Him. The whole world will know it when He comes the next time! Just as it is factual that the first event happened, so it is factual that the second event will occur.

The majority of people will not expect Him to come back. They will not be looking for it. But the followers of Jesus are looking for His coming. It could happen in our lifetime. But whether it does or not, we shall see Jesus! Then we will be with Him forever in that perfect place—Heaven. Are you watching… expecting Him? Be ready…

Dear Father, thank You for my home in Heaven. I so look forward to being there with the Lord Jesus and all who love Him. May it be soon. So be it!

I saw before me what seemed to be a glass sea mixed with fire. And on it stood all the people who had been victorious over the beast and his statue and the number representing his name. They were all holding harps that God had given them. And they were singing the song of Moses, the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb: “Great and marvelous are your works, O Lord God, the Almighty. Just and true are your ways, O King of the nations. Who will not fear you, Lord, and glorify your name? For you alone are holy. All nations will come and worship before you, for your righteous deeds have been revealed.” —Revelation 15:2-4

Ever have someone tell you the end of the story of how a book or movie ends? It kind of takes away the important part. Some record sports events when they are not available to watch it live, but then someone tells them the score and takes away the ending. Well we followers of Jesus know the end of the story of life on this planet and it is an encouragement.

Last night we were at a nursing home singing Christmas Carols and it is always a stark reminder of the hope we have in the Lord Jesus Christ. We all age and will be seniors one day. It was a joy to share this reminder of being with Jesus after death and in heaven there will be no more death, pain, sorrow or tears, but everything will be perfect… even our bodies! You could see the joy on some of the faces as the truth of the hope we have in Jesus beyond the grave enlightened their minds. Yes, it was wonderful to sing last night, but there is a time coming when we will be singing in Heaven. Oh, what a time that will be! Rejoice fellow follower of Jesus. The best is yet ahead!

Dear Father, we so look forward to being with the Lord Jesus and all who love Him. Until then, may we be faithful in lifting His Name in song and testimony in His authority and by the Holy Spirit’s power.

He (Satan) stood in front of the woman as she was about to give birth, ready to devour her baby as soon as it was born. —Revelation 12:4

Children all too often become the objects of adult’s abuse. We read of ISIS killing children and this was not the only time these butchers did this Then we have sick sexual predators using their positions to promote abuse and Planned Parenthood and all the abuse taking place there but is just being shrugged off for the most part Yes, Satan likes to go after the most helpless among us— children.

So it was when Jesus was born. King Herod, paranoid tyrant that he was, heard about this “King of the Jews” being born and schemed to find out where he was. When he did find out he sent soldiers to kill Jesus and in his attempt killed all the children in the surrounding area of Bethlehem up to two years of age.

What does this situation and all those mentioned above have in common? They are satanically motivated and these people are being held captive by Satan to do his will (II Timothy 2:26). If Satan sought to instigate people to kill Jesus then he will do anything as seen in the links above. But, Satan is a defeated foe. He could not touch Jesus and Jesus will have a final judgment on him (Revelation 20:10). All things will be set right one day. That is what the birth, death, resurrection and ascension is all about. Jesus will come again, but not as a Lamb. He will come as a Lion and apply true justice. Even so come Lord Jesus!

Dear Father, please help me to be the person You desire and to be about Your business that You have for me. May this be done in the power of the Holy Spirit and in the authority of Jesus.

But the people who did not die in these plagues still refused to repent of their evil deeds and turn to God. They continued to worship demons and idols made of gold, silver, bronze, stone, and wood—idols that can neither see nor hear nor walk! And they did not repent of their murders or their witchcraft or their sexual immorality or their thefts. —Revelation 9:20-21

How sad that people just will not turn to the Lord God Almighty, but would rather cling to the gods of their own making. Murder, sexual immorality and theft are more important to them more than loving God and living for Him.

Remember, Jesus said that the greatest command was “‘You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. A second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ The entire law and all the demands of the prophets are based on these two commandments” (Matthew 22:37-40).

Is the Lord God Almighty top priority in our lives? If not, then we have an idol or idols that we believe are more important than He is. These are gods of our own making, figments of our own imaginations. May we trust the Lord Jesus and live for Him.

Dear Father, may I have You as the first priority relationship in my life. Oh, that I would cling to You in good times and in difficult times. Thank You for Your love for me, proven in the death and resurrection of Jesus. I am grateful!

“Terror, terror, terror to all who belong to this world because of what will happen when the last three angels blow their trumpets.” —Revelation 8:13

Terrorism is the talk of the day today for so many… and climate change… and politics as we come into the 2016 election year. Terror in many forms will occur in this world until Jesus sets all things right. It is just the nature of this fallen world and fallen man. There are people in this world whose intent is evil toward others as they do not desire to follow the Lord God Almighty. This is nothing new. It happened in the first family not long after the Fall of man (Genesis 4). Cain killed his brother Abel because Abel was righteous and Cain was “of the evil one” (I John 3:12).

Satan deceived Eve and Adam followed her lead. Sin and death entered when they disobeyed God (Genesis 3) as Satan sought to drive a wedge between God and man. He does the same today, but he also seeks to drive wedges between nations, people groups, families and individuals. He is a schemer and for the most part, the world does not even understand this.

In the future God is going to judge Satan and this world. People can deny this all they want, but it is the truth. It will be a “terrifying thing to fall into the hands of the living God” (Hebrews 10:31). Listen to what will be some of the judgments that will be coming directly from God against this rebellious world:

“A third of the earth was burned up, a third of the trees were burned up, and all the green grass was burned up.” —8:7

“A third of the sea turned into blood, a third of the living creatures in the sea died, and a third of the ships were destroyed.” —8:8-9

“a third of the sun was struck, a third of the moon, and a third of the stars, so that a third of them turned dark. A third of the day was without light, and also a third of the night.” —8:12

God’s righteous judgment on this planet is done in total justice. People will get what they deserve for rebelling against a holy, just, righteous and perfect God and for rejecting His Son with all the meaning behind that! Be ready to meet your God! How grateful to know that those of us who have trusted the Lord Jesus need not fear. Jesus took the judgment for us. We will be with Him forever! Woe to those who have not trusted Him. If you have not, please do so. His patience will run out one day—“The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance” (II Peter 3:9). He loves you and desires you to come to Him, trust Him.

Dear Father, please help me and us to invite others to trust the Lord Jesus Christ. Oh, be please to do so!

And God will wipe every tear from their eyes.” —Revelation 7:17

He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain. All these things are gone forever.” —Revelation 21:4

We live in a world that has so much sorrow. A person finds out that a loved one or they themselves have an incurable cancer and tears are shed. Little boy falls and skins his knee and tears flow. Down through the ages generation after generation flood the earth with rivers of tears as they stand at the graves of loved ones. Financial ruin, broken marriages, fractured relationships and so much more have created a sea of tears. I read that it is estimated that the average person sheds 15- 32 gallons of tears over their lifetime. We live in a broken world.

God will wipe all our tears away one day. Heaven, are you looking forward to your home there? We will never know death, sorrow, crying or pain there. Those things will be gone forever in that sinless place. Until then, may we faithfully serve those around us. All people have shed tears. All people are hurting to some degree and we have the answer to their pain—- Jesus! May we seek to encourage someone today!

Thank You Father for the wonderful home in heaven we have made possible by our Lord Jesus Christ. May I seek to encourage people toward Him today. He is the only hope for this world!

Then everyone—the kings of the earth, the rulers, the generals, the wealthy, the powerful, and every slave and free person—all hid themselves in the caves and among the rocks of the mountains. And they cried to the mountains and the rocks, “Fall on us and hide us from the face of the one who sits on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb. For the great day of their wrath has come, and who is able to survive?” —Revelation 6:15-17

Jesus just may come back in our lifetime! Are you ready? When He comes back it will be with great power. Every person from every spectrum of society on earth that does not know Him will seek to hide from Him. They will understand that His wrath has come upon them they will be greatly afraid.

There are groups that many be feared today who terrorize people: ISIS, al-Qaeda, Al-Shabaab, Boko Haram…— and the list is extensive. These are just terrorist groups! But they fearfully affect parts of the earth and do so for their own wicked purposes. When Jesus comes back His wrath is going to be carrying out justice in righteousness and none will escape His judgment!

I am so glad that I have trusted Jesus as Lord and Savior so I will not have to meet Him as Judge. It is a joy to know Him now, serve Him now with the expectation of being with Jesus in that perfect place one day— Heaven. Even so come Lord Jesus!

Dear Father, oh may it not be long before all who love the Lord Jesus will be with Him in glory. We so look forward to that day. But, You have us on this earth for Your purposes so may we be faithful in living them out in the authority of Jesus and by the Holy Spirit’s power. So be it!

For you were slaughtered, and your blood has ransomed people for God from every tribe and language and people and nation. —Revelation 5:9

Jesus is the only way to have a relationship with God. He is the only One who has taken the penalty and punishment for our sin. He is the only One who can set us free from our sinful prison cell by the power of the cross and resurrection. He alone gives us sight when we were once blind. He alone brings us out from under the oppression of Satan (Luke 4:18).

Let us be perfectly clear. There is no other hope for Mankind other than Jesus who is the Christ sent by His Father and identified by the Holy Spirit (John 1). No other world religion comes close to providing the gift of salvation. All other ways are false, led by false prophets and teachers. Jesus is the only way (John 14:6; Acts 4:12).

Dear Father, thank You for allowing me to know the King of kings and the Lord of lords. Oh, what a marvel to understand who Jesus is and how much He loves us. He is AWESOME!

“I know all the things you do. —Revelation 2:2

We live in a time when people think they can know when somebody is going to do an evil act. Our government can have all the surveillance it wants, but that will never stop somebody from carrying out an evil action if that is what they really want to do. They will find a way to do it, especially if it comes from people who do not care if they get killed while carrying out their evil plan. Cameras, scanning people’s communication may give indication, but these cannot give a specific timetable. People can be deceiving. We know that!

On the other hand, Jesus knows all things about everybody and nobody is getting away with anything. That includes you and me. Not only that, but he keeps a record as well. Those who do not know Jesus will be judged by what they have done or not done (Revelation 20:15) and those who do know Jesus will be rewarded for faithfulness or lose reward for lack of faithfulness (I Corinthians 3:12-15; II Corinthians 5:10). Nothing escapes His notice! “He knows when you are naughty. He knows when you are nice.” This is surely true of the Lord Jesus Christ!

Dear Father, please help me to do those things that are pleasing in Your sight. May I do so in the authority of Jesus and by the Holy Spirit’s power and guidance. May it be so!
