Carefully determine what pleases the Lord. Take no part in the worthless deeds of evil and darkness; instead, expose them. —Ephesians 5:10-11
So be careful how you live. Don’t live like fools, but like those who are wise. Make the most of every opportunity in these evil days. Don’t act thoughtlessly, but understand what the Lord wants you to do. —Ephesians 5:15-17
Only fools say in their hearts, “There is no God.” They are corrupt, and their actions are evil; not one of them does good! (Psalm 14:1). It does not take very long to understand this as you read their works… http://www.arvindguptatoys.com/arvindgupta/atheistsuniverse.pdf
Fellow follower of Jesus, we are called not to live like fools, but to be careful how we live, to live to please our Lord (I John 3:22). To live like a fool is to live as if God does not exist. It means we are living according to our own intellect alone and to be the god of our own life.
Not only are we to do what pleases the Lord, but we are to be carefully determining what it is that pleases the Lord. We are not to be taking any “part in the worthless deeds of evil and darkness; instead, expose them.” When was the last time you or I exposed worthless deeds of evil and darkness?
Are we making the most of every opportunity in these evil days? We do not know when we shall breathe our last breath on this planet. Those recently killed for their faith in did not realize they would be finishing the race that day very day as they were in a college class. http://www.foxnews.com/us/2015/10/02/witnesses-say-oregon-gunman-targeted-christians-in-community-college-shooting/?intcmp=hpbt2 We never know when our end will come. Let us live like today could be…
Dear Father, please help me to live wisely in Jesus.
