COME TO JESUS— EVEN IN YOUR DOUBTS AND DISBELIEF!

But if you can do anything, take pity on us and help us.  “If you can?” said Jesus. “Everything is possible for one who believes.”  Immediately the boy’s father exclaimed, “I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!”—Mark 9:22-24

            A child in dire straits with demon possession!  It is parent’s worst nightmare.  But this parent was wise in bringing his child to Jesus.  Did he have doubts?  Sure he did!  Actually he was having a hard time believing Jesus could do anything.  But he also asked Jesus to help him overcome his unbelief.  Oh yea, Jesus would do that as He drove out the demon and returned the child to his dad… in his right mind.  Yea, this is every believing parent’s desire!  There is nothing greater to know then to know your children are walking in faith— trusting Jesus day by day and moment by moment.

            How about us— are we struggling with doubt or unbelief in a situation?  Do we really think Jesus cares or that He will help?  Let us be like this man.  Even with his doubts and disbelief he still came to Jesus.  This is after he had brought his son to Jesus’ disciples but they were unable to help him.  Let us always remember that Jesus is always available to us and for us.  Even when we doubt or have unbelief, let us run to Him and trust Him to answer.  Yes, Dear Father may this be so by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son Jesus.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PsQmsEE_2-s
