FEAR THE LORD!
FEAR THE LORD!
Blessed is everyone who fears the LORD, who walks in his ways! —Psalm 128:1
And now, Israel, what does the LORD your God ask of you but to fear the LORD your God, to walk in obedience to him, to love him, to serve the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul. —Deuteronomy 10:12
And he said to the human race, “The fear of the Lord—that is wisdom, and to shun evil is understanding.” —Job 28:28
Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the LORD and shun evil. —Proverbs 3:7
To fear the LORD is to hate evil; I hate pride and arrogance, evil behavior and perverse speech. —Proverbs 8:13
What does it mean to fear the Lord? Is this a cringing, shrinking fear thinking impinging retribution is about to strike? Let’s take a look at these verses from God’s Word.
To fear the Lord:
- Is to be blessed
- Is to walk in His ways
- Is to walk in obedience
- Is to love Him
- Is to serve Him
- Is to not be wise in one’s own eyes
- Is to shun evil
- Is to hate evil
So with these in mind— Do you fear the Lord? If you do then you are blessed. If you do then you are walking in His ways. If you do then you are being obedient to Him. If you do then you love Him. If you do then you are serving Him. If you do then you are not being wise in your own eyes. If you do then you are shunning evil. If you do then you hate evil. So again, I ask, do you fear the Lord? Your answers to the previous questions will answer this final question. Oh, that it would be our first priority to “fear the Lord.” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jeksNsNrjNA
Yes, Dear Father, may I make this my priority and be and do what You desire by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son Jesus. May it be so!
