GIVE GOD THE GLORY DUE HIS NAME!

“Our hand is triumphant, it was not the LORD who did all this.” —Deuteronomy 32:27

See now that I, even I, am he, and there is no god beside me; I kill and I make alive; I wound and I heal; and there is none that can deliver out of my hand. —Deuteronomy 32:39

He said to them, “Take to heart all the words by which I am warning you today, that you may command them to your children, that they may be careful to do all the words of this law. For it is no empty word for you, but your very life, and by this word you shall live long in the land that you are going over the Jordan to possess.” —Deuteronomy 32:46-48

            The pride of man is great! Pride causes man to think of himself to be greater than he is. Look at all the accomplishments of man on the earth. How many of those accomplishments does man credit God with? So many men think they are self-made men. They think it is by their own intelligence, by their own planning, by their own greatness, by their own strength that they have accomplished these things. Most do not acknowledge God who gave them the ability.

            Those great architects of the world who design building, roads, bridges and so much more, how much to they acknowledge God who have given them the creativity to do so? Of all the great athletes in the word, how many of them thank God for those abilities they have? For any person whatever they accomplish, who gives glory to God for what they have done?   No, too many men pridefully think it is all them. It reality… it is the Lord that has done all this.

            Man’s very life is dependent on our Lord God Almighty. He is the One who kills and he is the one who gives life.   Yes, our death and life are in His hands. He is also the One who wounds and heals. There are none who can deliver out of His purposeful hands. His plans and purposes are being carried out. Death, difficulty and disease are the great levelers of a prideful human race which humble us and remind us that we are not in control.   The covid 19 has reminded the world of this and praise God that He is getting the attention of many through it.   But there are many prideful people that think that they can solve this problem in their own abilities. They will not acknowledge any remedy that is found is because of our Lord’s mercy and grace revealing it.

            The very Word of God is our life! He has revealed to us the truth of all these things and we are to relay these to our children and to anyone else we can. These Words of God are no empty Words. No indeed, they are impacting to our lives as we listen and lovingly obey.   We are to take His Words to heart so that we will not be prideful, but be humbly grateful for all our Lord has done for us, is doing for us and will do for us. This will go contrary to pride of man, but we are to shine for Him in this dark world. May we do so!

Dear Father thank You for giving us Your Word that can know You and know how You desire us to live. Oh, that I would live according to Your Word and encourage others to do so.   May this be in the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Jesus.
