YOU ARE A TEACHER OR ARE YOU IN NEED TO BE TAUGHT
In fact, though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you the elementary truths of God’s word all over again. You need milk, not solid food! Anyone who lives on milk, being still an infant, is not acquainted with the teaching about righteousness. But solid food is for the mature, who by constant use have trained themselves to distinguish good from evil. —Hebrews 5:12-14
As a follower/disciple of Jesus—
- Are you a teacher?
- Are you able to teach the Word of God?
- Are you in need to be taught the elementary truth of God’s Word all over again?
- Are you on milk?
- Are you on solid food?
- Are you an infant?
- Are you acquainted with the teaching about righteousness?
- Are you mature?
- Are you constantly using the Word of God?
- Are you trained to distinguish good from evil?
So, there you have it. Some characteristics of the mature follower of Jesus and the immature follower of Jesus. Which are you? When our Lord desires you to teach His Word, are you mature enough to do so? Maturity as a follower of Jesus doesn’t depend on age, it depends on FAITHFULNESS!
Dear Father, please help me to be faithful, mature and ready to teach Your Word at any given time in any given situation. May this be so by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son Jesus for Your honor and glory and for the benefit of many other people that they may know You, grow in You and also be able to teach others about You.
