PLEASE… DO NOT TALK BACK TO GOD!
If one wished to contend with him, one could not answer him once in a thousand times. He is wise in heart and mighty in strength —who has hardened himself against him, and succeeded? —Job 9:3-4
“Heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool. What kind of house will you build for me, says the Lord, or what is the place of my rest? Did not my hand make all these things?” —Acts 7:49-50
But who are you, a human being, to talk back to God? “Shall what is formed say to the one who formed it, ‘Why did you make me like this?”
People who don’t want anything to do with God do not know Who they are rejecting! Job understood that nobody can contend with our Lord God Almighty. Yet there are people who speak and act against God as if they were some god themselves who could overcome God. They are mistaken. He is so far beyond and above us. We understand Him by His revealed Word, His revealed Son and His revealed creation and conscience. What He has revealed to us is overwhelmingly powerful. Job understood this and said, “One could not answer him once in a thousand times.” Yet there are many people who think they have the answers. They do not. But dear fellow follower of Jesus, we do have the answers that our God has revealed to us. Let us not keep these to ourselves, but instead be sharing His Word with those who will listen.
Stephen, in His testimony before he was killed for sharing God’s Word, quoted our Lord— “Heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool. What kind of house will you build for me, says the Lord, or what is the place of my rest? Did not my hand make all these things?” What can man provide for God? He is sooooo… AWESOME! Gaze into the night sky and be amazed at what He has created. We see so little with just our eyes. Ponder the wonders of creation on this planet. We see so little of it in our lifetime. Think about it. How many different animals have you seen in your life time— not in pictures or videos — but in real life, in the wild? Have you seen a lion, polar bear or an anaconda? How many fish have you seen in the wild? Or plants? Or birds? We are so limited in our experience. God is not limited at all.
So… “Who are you, a human being, to talk back to God? Shall what is formed say to the one who formed it, ‘Why did you make me like this?’” So many talk back to God! It is sad when a child talks back to a parent. How much more sorrowful when people do this with God? It aught not be so! Oh, that people would bow the knee and acknowledge Him before it is too late and be cast into Hell where “the worms that eat them do not die, and the fire is not quenched” (Mark 9:48). This is a place people will go who do not want to live for Jesus. They will hear Him say “Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels” (Matthew 25:41). Those will be eternally horrible words to hear and experience. Let that be a warning if you have not trusted Jesus yet. This is the fate of all who want to reject Him now. He will reject them after death. On the other hand… “Whoever calls in the Name of the Lord will be saved” (Romans 10:13).
