OUR KING

OUR KING

And He has a name written on His robe and on His thigh: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS. —Revelation 19:16

Plain and simply… Jesus has all authority (Matthew 28:18). None is greater than He. He is the Creator and sustainer of all things (John 1:2: Colossians 1:16, 17; Hebrews 1:2-3).   Ponder how awesome He is! He has created all thing— from the microscopic to the humongous of stars and all of creation! It is hard to even begin to understand His awesomeness. He is so far beyond us and yet—

“When Christ came into the world, he said: “Sacrifice and offering you did not desire, but a body you prepared for me; with burnt offerings and sin offerings you were not pleased. Then I said, ‘Here I am—it is written about me in the scroll— I have come to do your will, my God.’ ” First he said, “Sacrifices and offerings, burnt offerings and sin offerings you did not desire, nor were you pleased with them”—though they were offered in accordance with the law.  Then he said, “Here I am, I have come to do your will.” He sets aside the first to establish the second.  And by that will, we have been made holy through the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. First he said, “Sacrifices and offerings, burnt offerings and sin offerings you did not desire, nor were you pleased with them”—though they were offered in accordance with the law.  Then he said, “Here I am, I have come to do your will.” He sets aside the first to establish the second.  And by that will, we have been made holy through the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. —Hebrews 10:5-10

It is so astounding that Jesus would leave the glory of heaven (John 17:5) to come to this fallen, sinful world all because of love for us (John 3:16).   Think of this great love He has for us.   It is hard for us to understand.   Though God in His Word has revealed to us that this is the case and we need to take Him at His Word.   From the natural perspective with our human thinking along we could never understand that God truly loves us. It was though Jesus that we understand. He who loved us first desires us to love Him (I John 4:19).

So, let us “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment.  And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments” (Matthew 22:37-40). “By this we know that we love the children of God: when we love God and keep His commandments.  For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome, because everyone born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world: our faith” (I John 5:2-4). So let us love and live for our King! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NscHCa395-M

Dear Father may this be so in the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Jesus. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e_JcB94qRP8
