OUR AWESOME LORD!
OUR AWESOME LORD!
But I am a worm and not a man, scorned by men and despised by the people. All who see me mock me; they sneer and shake their heads: “He trusts in the LORD, let the LORD deliver him; let the LORD rescue him, since He delights in him.” —Psalm 22:6-8
Two rebels were crucified with him, one on his right and one on his left. Those who passed by hurled insults at him, shaking their heads and saying, “You who are going to destroy the temple and build it in three days, save yourself! Come down from the cross, if you are the Son of God!” In the same way the chief priests, the teachers of the law and the elders mocked him. “He saved others,” they said, “but he can’t save himself! He’s the king of Israel! Let him come down now from the cross, and we will believe in him. He trusts in God. Let God rescue him now if he wants him, for he said, ‘I am the Son of God.’ ” In the same way the rebels who were crucified with him also heaped insults on him. —Matthew 27:38-44 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mUxI-y
Jesus was:
Scorned by men
Despised by people
Mocked
Insulted
Sneered at
Heads shaken at
Rejected
Suffering
Familiar with pain
Held in low esteem
Pierced for our transgressions
Crushed for our iniquities
Punished for our peace
Wounded that we could be healed
Oppressed
Afflicted
Silent as a lamb to slaughter
Judged
Assigned a grave with the wicked
Assigned with the rich in His death
Not violent
Not deceitful
Crushed
Going to prosper
Going to see the light of life
Going to be satisfied
Going to justify many
Going to divide a portion with the great
Going to divide the spoils with the strong
Going to pour out His life unto death
Numbered with the transgressors
Bearing the sins of many
Making intercession for the transgressors (Isaiah chapter 53)
Dear Father, I am astounded, overwhelmed, utterly amazed what Jesus went through for me. Please help me to live a life that is pleasing to You in the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Jesus. So be it!
