THE HEART
The Lord doesn’t see things the way you see them. People judge by outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart. —I Samuel 16:7
What is going on in the hearts of all the people in our sphere of influence? So many people around us put on a good face, but inwardly they are in turmoil. Many are going through broken relationships, but they don’t share their pain with anyone. Some are really struggling at their jobs, but they keep it hush, hush. There are those with various addiction and others who wrestle with depression, but they don’t want to let others know about it and seek to mask it. Then there are those going through health issues, but they keep closed about it and grind it out… https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YLwHElK29MA
The heart of a person, the inner part of a person cannot be seen by another person. No person can know the heart of another person unless they share it. Oh, there may be some externals in the person’s life that give some indication that something is wrong, but it is not until the person shares with us that we can know the details. Oh course, the Lord knows the heart of every man (I Chronicles 28:9). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cUjUvoynGMM He knows your heart… and mine… and every person’s.
We need to be careful we are not like Job’s friends who made wrong assessments about Job. They thought they knew the intentions of his heart and that they were evil. These “friends” believed Job brought upon himself these terrible things that happened to him. They were absolutely wrong. Only God knows the heart. May we be careful with the way we treat people!
Dear Father, may I have Your wisdom as I speak with people and minister to them. May this be so in the power of the Holy Spirit and in the authority of Jesus my Lord.
