NEW LIFE!
Of course, your former friends are surprised when you no longer plunge into the flood of wild and destructive things they do. So they slander you. —I Peter 4:4
When a person truly trusts the Lord Jesus Christ their priorities change. Friends at the time do not understand and think it strange that you don’t want to the wild things you used to with them. A few years ago my sister ran into an old high school classmate of mine and told her what I was presently doing. The former classmate was shocked, understanding what I used to be like.
Other friends thought I was just going through a stage, a fad and that I would eventually return to my old self. Well, it has been 36 years and I have yet to return to my old self and I have no desire to. It is amazing what I thought used to be a good time— the worldly wild and destructive things I used to be involved in. The Lord Jesus truly gives a different perspective on life and why we are living and it is not “Let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we die.” (I Corinthians 15:52; Isaiah 22:13; Luke 12:16-21). I am so grateful for His showing me what this life is for and also for the expectation of being with Him in Heaven one day. What is better than that? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7683dAXXvFI
Dear Father, thank You from saving me out of the life I used to live and giving me new life in Jesus. Out of gratitude may I truly be and do what is pleasing in Your sight. May it be so!
