HE DID WHAT WE CANNOT DO— ACCEPT IT OR NOT!

Then, when I make atonement for you for all you have done, you will remember and be ashamed and never again open your mouth because of your humiliation, declares the Sovereign Lord. —Ezekiel 16:63

My dear children, I write this to you so that you will not sin. But if anybody does sin, we have an advocate with the Father—Jesus Christ, the Righteous One. He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world. —I John 2:1-2

How fortunate we are, brothers and sisters, fellow followers of Jesus, that we know and have accepted the atonement that Jesus has made for us.  How ashamed we are when we think back to the things we have done before calling on Jesus (and maybe since) —

“As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins, in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient. All of us also lived among them at one time, gratifying the cravings of our flesh and following its desires and thoughts. Like the rest, we were by nature deserving of wrath.” —Ephesians 2:1-3

And yet, “As Scripture says, ‘Anyone who believes in him will never be put to shame’… for, ‘Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.’” (Romans 10:11, 13).  Jesus is our Advocate who took the penalty for our sin and for the sin of the whole world.  Anyone who calls on His Name and accepts the atonement He offers has eternal life!  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZD6khv6pGkw&t=10s For this to happen, people have to swallow their pride and understand they need Jesus to save them from their sin and to eternal life with Him.  If they do not see their need, then they will just live according to their own desires.

Dear Father, out of eternal gratitude, may I seek to live faithfully for You by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son Jesus.  Yes, and all for Your honor and glory.   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cEbQswNB6Wc&list=RDcEbQswNB6Wc&start_radio=1
