ACTIONS PROVE IF ONE KNOWS GOD OR NOT
They claim to know God, but by their actions they deny him. They are detestable, disobedient and unfit for doing anything good. —Titus 1:16
Let those who love the Lord hate evil… —Psalm 97:10
There are many who claim to know God, but by their actions, or inactions, they actually deny Him. Instead, their thoughts and actions are detestable or vile, disobedient and they are unfit for doing anything good. They show who they really are by loving evil.
On the other hand, those who know God prove so by their actions. They are loveable, consistently obedient to His Word and seek to do what is good. Actions are taken according to the truth we believe in. If we believe in the Truth of God’s Word, they we will listen and apply what He says to life. If we do not believe the Truth of God’s Word, we will apply what we think is the truth. Whichever way one believes will be seen in their actions.
“Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.” —Matthew 7:24-27
`So actions, the practice of God’s Word, will be evident in a person’s lie. Likewise, those who do not live by truth of God’s Word will be seen in their actions. A person will either be a “light” in this world or will blend in with the “darkness” of this world. Which are you—light or darkness? Dear Father, may I shine for You in this world, showing forth the Truth of Your Word by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son Jesus.
