GOD TURNED MY DARKNESS INTO LIGHT

You, Lord, are my lamp; the Lord turns my darkness into light. —II Samuel 22:29

Whoever gives heed to instruction prospers, and blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord. —Proverbs 16:20

‘For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light” (Ephesians 5:8).  One day we did not just say, “Hey, I think I will come out of the darkness and be a child of the Lord and have light in the Lord.”  No…

“As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins, in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient. All of us also lived among them at one time, gratifying the cravings of our flesh and following its desires and thoughts. Like the rest, we were by nature deserving of wrath. But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved.” —Ephesians 2:1-5

It was God who “made us alive with Christ.”  How’d He do that? How did he make us alive who were dead in our trespasses and sin?  How did He dispel the darkness in our lives and turn it to light?

The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. For what we preach is not ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, and ourselves as your servants for Jesus’ sake. For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of God’s glory displayed in the face of Christ.” —II Corinthians 4:4-6

It was God who “made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of God’s glory displayed in the face of Christ.”  See it was God who “made His light to shine in our hearts.  He is the Light and turned our darkness into light so we could truly see.  He brought us to our senses so we could “come to (our)r senses and escape from the trap of the devil, who has taken (us) captive to do his will” (II Timothy 2:26).  When did this happen?

“And you also were included in Christ when you heard the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation. When you believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession—to the praise of his glory.” —Ephesians 1:13-14

We heard and heeded His Word and trusted in Him!  At that time, He brought us into “the kingdom of light. For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins” (Colossians 1:13-14).  And now He has sent us with the gospel so that others could escape the darkness and come into the light and be children of light.  Oh, Dear Father, may we be sensitive today to who we can bring this glorious message to.  May we do so by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son Jesus.  Yes, and all for Your honor and glory!  Amen! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tWeXVnRm6R8&list=RDtWeXVnRm6R8&start_radio=1
