LEAVE IT IN OUR LORD’S HANDS

As surely as the Lord lives,” he said, “the Lord himself will strike him, or his time will come and he will die, or he will go into battle and perish. But the Lord forbid that I should lay a hand on the Lord’s anointed. —I Samuel 26:10-11

There are those who may want to or have harmed us in some way.  It may be our first inclination to retaliate somehow.  But remember, “Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,” says the Lord” (Romans 12:19).  If there truly needs to be action taken against the one who has harmed you, leave it in our Lord’s hands.  He knows best how to handle the situation in His timing.  You just do what our Lord desires and leave the rest with Him.

David was being pursued by Saul as Saul was trying to kill David.  When David had the  opportunity to kill Saul, he did not do it.  Instead, David’s response was— “As surely as the Lord lives,” he said, “the Lord himself will strike him, or his time will come and he will die, or he will go into battle and perish. But the Lord forbid that I should lay a hand on the Lord’s anointed.”  David trusted the Lord to carry out Saul’s demise.  He would not take part in it.

Dear Father, may I trust You with doing Your will in the lives of those who have harmed me or desire to.  May I focus on what You desire for me by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son.  Yes, may I trust You to work out what You desire in the lives of others.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3e-dXAUFmqI&list=RD3e-dXAUFmqI&start_radio=1
