TRUST THE LORD, DON’T BE AFRAID!

The Lord is with me; I will not be afraid.  What can mere mortals do to me?  The Lord is with me; he is my helper.  I look in triumph on my enemies.  It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in humans.  It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in princes. —Psalm 118:6-9

Can you say this? — “The Lord is with me; I will not be afraid.  What can mere mortals do to me?”  Do you have this confidence in our Lord?  Are you trusting Him like this?  Do you really believe that “The Lord is with me; he is my helper?”  God’s Word is very clear on this.  For the followers/disciples of Jesus He said, “And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” (Matthew 28:20) and “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.”  So we say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid.  What can mere mortals do to me?” (Hebrews 13:5-6). Trust our Lord to give you victory and then acknowledge it was He who gave the victory!

So, truly, who are you taking refuge in?  Yourself?  Some other person?  The government?  Your work?  Your reputation?  Your circumstances?  Your wealth?  Your intellect?…  Or, are you taking “refuge in the Lord” which is much wiser and far better “than to trust in humans.”  And surely, “It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in princes.”  It is our Lord who is our King and Savior.  Again, where are you putting your trust?  “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight” (Proverbs 3:5-6).  Yes, Dear Father, may we trust You with all our hearts!  May this be so by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son Jesus.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mLsETd3MFzk&list=RDmLsETd3MFzk&start_radio=1
