DON’T HARDEN YOUR HEART!

Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts. —Hebrews 3:7-8

Their hearts are always going astray, and they have not known my ways. —Hebrews 3:10

See to it, brothers and sisters, that none of you has a sinful, unbelieving heart that turns away from the living God. But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called “Today,” so that none of you may be hardened by sin’s deceitfulness. —Hebrews 3:12-13

And to whom did God swear that they would never enter his rest if not to those who disobeyed? So we see that they were not able to enter, because of their unbelief. —Hebrews 3:18-19

What is your heart like?  Is it becoming more hardened through resisting the truth and refusing to believe?  That is a very dangerous place to be because God has given us His Word and “Jesus performed many other signs in the presence of his disciples, which are not recorded in this book. But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name” (John 20:30-31).  God has given us His written Truth.  Where else can we go?  As Peter said to Jesus, “You have the words of eternal life” (John 6:68).  So, people can read His Word and believe or they can hear His Word and believe because faith also “comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ” (Romans 10:17).  So, have you read or heard the Truth of God’s Word?  Are you resisting the truth and refusing to believe?  Be warned… the more you do so the harder your heart will become

“σκληρύνω speaks of a moral and spiritual “hardening,” a progressive resistance that renders the heart insensitive to God’s voice. While a physical callous forms through repeated friction, this hardening develops through repeated unbelief, sin, or the judicial act of God. Scripture consistently sets it in contrast to the soft, teachable heart that trembles at His word.”

Jesus invites all people— “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light” (Matthew 28:28-30).  Yet it is so sad that there are so many whose “hearts are always going astray, and they have not known my ways.”  We are warned “that none of you has a sinful, unbelieving heart that turns away from the living God. But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called “Today,” so that none of you may be hardened by sin’s deceitfulness.”

Yes, again, Jesus said, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”  But “to whom did God swear that they would never enter his rest if not to those who disobeyed? So we see that they were not able to enter, because of their unbelief.”  Please, please, please… do not let the sin of unbelief harden your heart.  Soften your heart and believe what God has done for you! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pYZw0dfLmLk&t=5s Yes, Dear Father, please draw those reading this that have not called on Jesus to save them to do so now by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son Jesus.  May this be so all for Your honor and glory! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ihrUIPfvTh8&list=RDihrUIPfvTh8&start_radio=1
