FAITHFUL LIVING THAT HONORS OUR LORD AND IMPACTS OTHERS

But Timothy has just now come to us from you and has brought good news about your faith and love. He has told us that you always have pleasant memories of us and that you long to see us, just as we also long to see you. —I Thessalonians 3:6

How can we thank God enough for you in return for all the joy we have in the presence of our God because of you? —I Thessalonians 3:9

Yet we urge you, brothers and sisters, to do so more and more, and to make it your ambition to lead a quiet life: You should mind your own business and work with your hands, just as we told you, so that your daily life may win the respect of outsiders and so that you will not be dependent on anybody. —I Thessalonians 4:10-12

I say to the Lord, “You are my Lord; apart from you I have no good thing.” —Psalm 16:2

You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand. —Psalm 16:11

Who is it in the Body of Christ that others have told us of their faith and love?  Who is it that has pleasant memories of us and long to see us just as we long to see them?  Who are we thanking God for because of the joy they bring us in the presence of God?  Who are we encouraging like this? — “Make it your ambition to lead a quiet life: You should mind your own business and work with your hands, just as we told you, so that your daily life may win the respect of outsiders and so that you will not be dependent on anybody.”  Do we live life like that?

We know that we can-do no-good thing apart from our Lord.  This is very clear as Jesus said— “Apart from me you can do nothing” (John 15:5).  “You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand.”  Do we understand this?

  • Apart from our Lord we can-do no-good thing
  • Apart from our Lord we can do nothing
  • Apart from our Lord we will not understand our path of life
  • Apart from our Lord we will not be filled with joy
  • Apart from our Lord we will not understand the eternal pleasures at His right hand.

In the Body of Christ, let us take joy in our Lord (which is our strength—Nehemiah 8:10) and have joy in each other, living a life that is pleasing to God.  Yes, Dear Father, may this be so by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son Jesus.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ge3uvXjet_c&list=PL9W7Qky6XbmQ6MmxdcajkKQn5GgRD7L4D
