GOD IS IN CONTROL!

One day the angels came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan also came with them. The Lord said to Satan, “Where have you come from?”  Satan answered the Lord, “From roaming throughout the earth, going back and forth on it.”   Then the Lord said to Satan, “Have you considered my servant Job?” —Job 1:6-8

On another day the angels came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan also came with them to present himself before him. And the Lord said to Satan, “Where have you come from?”  Satan answered the Lord, “From roaming throughout the earth, going back and forth on it.”  Then the Lord said to Satan, “Have you considered my servant Job? —Job 2:1-3

             Satan is not like God who is everywhere.  No, Satan can only be in one place at one time.  But he roams the earth and he is considering the Lord’s people, who he may destroy or seek to destroy.  We are told this also in I Peter 5:8 we are to “Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.”  Yes, Satan is out to destroy the followers of Jesus.  But he cannot do anything without our Lord’s permissions.  Satan is not sovereign.

             On the other hand, “Are not all angels ministering spirits sent to serve those who will inherit salvation?” (Hebrews 1:14).  We are told “Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it” (Hebrews 13:2).  I wonder how many times we have come across an angel’s path and did not even know it.  So, as Satan roams the earth seeking to destroy, so also our Lord’s angels roam the earth seeking “to serve those who will inherit salvation?” 

             God’s Work on this planet will be accomplished through Satan, through His angels, through people, lost and saved, or He will do so directly Himself.  I thank You, Dear Father, for the comfort to know that You alone are Sovereign and what You desire done will be done and You can use any avenue You desire to accomplish Your perfect plan.  May I be faithful in what You desire of me by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son Jesus.  So may it be!  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sZnRzQ3_udE&list=RDsZnRzQ3_udE&start_radio=1
