BE HUMBLE, NOT PRIDEFUL
Yet they say to God, ‘Leave us alone! We have no desire to know your ways. Who is the Almighty, that we should serve him? What would we gain by praying to him?’ —Job 21:14-15
Humility is the fear of the Lord… —Proverbs 22:4
There are those who just don’t want anything to do with our Lord. They want to be left alone. They do not want to serve Him. They do not want to talk with Him. They are like Pharaoh when he said to Moses and Aaron, “Who is the LORD, that I should obey him and let Israel go? I do not know the LORD and I will not let Israel go” (Exodus 5:2).
Pride is the problem of mankind. They want to be right in the middle and make their own choices and go their own way. Even the word “pride” had the “I” in the middle. Yes, the “I” in pride is the problem of mankind. On the other hand, “Humility is the fear of the Lord.” A person that is not prideful will see their proper place before our Lord. They will understand that it is He who is ultimately in control and they will have a desire to be with Him, to serve Him and to talk with Him.
So, which are you? The humble person who understands their place before our Lord God Almighty? Or, the prideful person who seeks to be in control and does not want anything to do with our Lord? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pYZw0dfLmLk&t=20s Dear Father, if there are any reading this that have not called on Jesus, may they do so now.
