SERVING ACCORDING TO HIS PLAN, HIS CHOICE, HIS STRENGTH
SERVING ACCORDING TO HIS PLAN, HIS CHOICE, HIS STRENGTH
Yet the Lord, the God of Israel, chose me… he chose my family… he has chosen my son… —I Chronicles 28:4-5
And you, my son Solomon, acknowledge the God of your father, and serve him with wholehearted devotion and with a willing mind, for the Lord searches every heart and understands every desire and every thought. If you seek him, he will be found by you; but if you forsake him, he will reject you forever. Consider now, for the Lord has chosen you to build a house as the sanctuary. Be strong and do the work.” —I Chronicles 28:9-10
David also said to Solomon his son, “Be strong and courageous, and do the work. Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord God, my God, is with you. He will not fail you or forsake you until all the work for the service of the temple of the Lord is finished. —I Chronicles 28:20
But who am I, and who are my people, that we should be able to give as generously as this? Everything comes from you, and we have given you only what comes from your hand. —I Chronicles 29:14
But as for me, I am poor and needy; come quickly to me, O God. You are my help and my deliverer; Lord, do not delay. —Psalm 70:5
Our Lord God Almighty has a plan and that plan will be carried out. He selects people from nations, families and individuals to reveal His plan and to be part of His plan. Those He chooses are to “serve him with wholehearted devotion and with a willing mind.” Our Lord God Almighty “searches every heart and understands every desire and every thought.” He knows you! He chose you! Be faithful in the work He has called you for— “For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do” (Ephesians 2:10; Titus 2:14). So, “, “Be strong and courageous, and do the work. Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord God, my God, is with you. He will not fail you or forsake you…”
It is not about us; it is about the grace of God. He enables us to give resources, but everything comes from Him and what we give to Him only comes from His hand. So let us use His resources wisely as He desires.
“But as for me, I am poor and needy; come quickly to me, O God. You are my help and my deliverer; Lord, do not delay.” I am grateful that He knows me, knows my desire to serve Him, even with my flaws. I cannot do anything without Him. He is my help and strength— yes, “The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?” (Psalm 27:1).
Dear Father, I am so grateful for Your choosing me. I don’t fully understand why, except that it is all by Your grace and I am thankful. Now, may I serve according to Your desires for me. May this be so by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son Jesus. So may it be all for Your honor and glory. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-816LEY-F9U&list=RD-816LEY-F9U&start_radio=1
