SHINE!

Those who are wise will shine like the brightness of the heavens, and those who lead many to righteousness, like the stars for ever and ever. —Daniel 12:3

“As for you, go your way till the end. You will rest, and then at the end of the days you will rise to receive your allotted inheritance.” —Daniel 12:13

            Oh, brothers and sisters, fellow followers of Jesus and disciples of His, let us be wise and lead many to the righteousness of Christ.  Yes, may we be “like the brightness of the heavens” and “like the stars for ever and ever.”

            A few decades ago, I was out for an early morning walk.  It was pitch dark except for the stars shining brightly in a crisp fall sky.  As I was pondering the beauty of the sky, one faint but bright star caught my eye.  I said, “Lord, I don’t have to be like one of those bright shining stars that stand out among all the others, but at least let me be like that faintly, but brightly shining star, that small star.  As long as I shine for You, that is what counts.  I don’t need to be the brightest one, but let me be one that shines consistently for you— like that faintly shining star that is shining for You.

            Faithfulness, like a shining star, that is my desire and faithfully “go (my) way till the end. (I) will rest, and then at the end of the days (I) will rise to receive (my) allotted inheritance.”  And so may it be for me… and so may it be for you.  Let us shine until the end of our days on this planet.  Yes, Dear Father, may this be so in the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son Jesus.  Yes, may we shine for You! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=moL8iDWiyRQ&list=RDmoL8iDWiyRQ&start_radio=1
