ONLY ONE KING, REDEEMER AND SAVIOR… ONLY ONE

I, even I, am the Lord, and apart from me there is no savior. —Isaiah 43:11

This is what the Lord says— Israel’s King and Redeemer, the Lord Almighty: I am the first and I am the last; apart from me there is no God… Who then is like me? Let him proclaim it… You are my witnesses. Is there any God besides me?  No, there is no other Rock; I know not one.” —Isaiah 44:6-8

            There is only one Savior and that is Jesus who said, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me” (John 14:6).  That is very exclusive.  He is the only way and “Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved” (Acts 4:12). 

            “This is what the Lord says— Israel’s King and Redeemer, the Lord Almighty.”  He is our Redeemer and we “know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your ancestors, but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect” (I Peter 1:18-19).  Jesus is the “is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world” (I John 2:2).  Now “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved” (Romans 10:13).

            Who is like Jesus?  Who is our Passover Lamb (I Corinthians 5:7)?  Who forgives our sins but God alone (Mark 2:7)?  Who can redeem us (I Peter 1:18-19)?

“No one can redeem the life of another or give to God a ransom for them—the ransom for a life is costly, no payment is ever enough—so that they should live on forever and not see decay.  But God will redeem me from the realm of the dead; he will surely take me to himself.” —Psalm 49:7-9,15
