BE FAITHFUL MANAGERS ACCORDING TO YOUR ABILITY!
BE FAITHFUL MANAGERS ACCORDING TO YOUR ABILITY!
Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour. “For it will be like a man going on a journey, who called his servants and entrusted to them his property. To one he gave five talents, to another two, to another one, to each according to his ability. Then he went away. —Matthew 25:13-15
His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a little; I will set you over much. Enter into the joy of your master.’ —Matthew 25:23
But his master answered him, ‘You wicked and slothful servant! You knew that I reap where I have not sown and gather where I scattered no seed? Then you ought to have invested my money with the bankers, and at my coming I should have received what was my own with interest. So take the talent from him and give it to him who has the ten talents. For to everyone who has will more be given, and he will have an abundance. But from the one who has not, even what he has will be taken away. And cast the worthless servant into the outer darkness. In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. —Matthew 25:26-30
Our Lord has given each of His followers responsibility for which we will give an account of as to how we “invested” that which He has given us (II Corinthians (II Corinthians 5:10). He has entrusted us with some of His “property” to manage. How are we doing?
Each follower of Jesus has been given responsibility “to each according to his ability.” We do not compare ourselves with others as we serve our Lord, but we serve with the ability and responsibility He has given us. The question is… “Am I serving according to the ability with the responsibility my Lord has given me with His “property?”
Two of His servants were faithful “investors” of their master’s property as they served according to their ability. He said the exact same thing to both of them— “Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a little; I will set you over much. Enter into the joy of your master.” Oh, what joyful words to hear from the One who loved us and gave Himself for us. May I hear those words… that will be enough… that will bring me great joy! Oh, that I would be faithful with what He has given me.
Unfortunately, the servant who was given the one talent, according to His ability, did not serve faithfully and there was great loss. Our Lord expects us to put into practice the “investing” of His “property” according out the ability He has also given us. May we serve faithfully according to His desires for us and all for His honor and glory and for our eternal joy! Yes, Dear Father, may this be so by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son, Jesus. So may it be! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FLX83HbefrI
