BE AWARE!

…but the unjust knows no shame… —Zephaniah 3:5

I said, ‘Surely you will fear me; you will accept correction. Then your dwelling would not be cut off according to all that I have appointed against you.’ But all the more they were eager to make all their deeds corrupt. —Zephaniah 3:7

            Man isolating himself from God is unjust and the unjust know no shame.  Look around our nation and this can be easily seen.  There is no shame in the perverse sexual promiscuity all around us.  There is no shame in the execution of the most helpless among us— babies in the womb.  There is no shame in outright lying to advance personal agendas.  There is no shame in manipulating media to propagate one’s desires.  There is no shame in the promotion or complicity in sex trafficking of children and their ruined lives.  There is no shame in the promotion or complicity in drug trafficking and in the deaths of many..  There is no shame in the irresponsible lack of protection for the citizens of this country.  There is no shame in using people, positions of power, finances of others for selfish gain.  It is true… “the unjust knows no shame.”

            Will the unjust fear the Lord?  Will they accept His correction?  Would they escape the Lord’s judgment that He has appointed for them?  No!  Instead, there are those who are all the more “eager to make all their deeds corrupt.”  We have to remember and understand that there are some who just do not want to fear the Lord.  They do not want to accept His correction.  They only want to follow their shameless ways.

            On the other hand, as followers of Jesus, we are to pray for all people because we do not know those who God has set apart from their mother’s womb or who He will call to Himself (Galatians 1:15; I Timothy 2:1-2).  But that is what He did with Saul who became Paul who was, as he said of himself— “once a blasphemer and a persecutor and a violent man, I was shown mercy because I acted in ignorance and unbelief”  (I Timothy 1:13). Saul had intensely “persecuted the church of God and tried to destroy it” (Galatians 1:13).  So let us be wise, faithful and on guard and armored up as we live in this sinful, fallen world (I Peter 5:8; Ephesians 6:10-19).  Yes, Dear Father, may this be so by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son Jesus. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NUy3yaSd9b0
