TRUST GOD WITH YOUR WHY QUESTIONS!

And the LORD said to Satan, “Have you considered my servant Job, that there is none like him on the earth, a blameless and upright man, who fears God and turns away from evil?” —Job 1:8

And he said, “Naked I came from my mother’s womb, and naked shall I return. The LORD gave, and the LORD has taken away; blessed be the name of the LORD.” In all this Job did not sin or charge God with wrong. —Job 1:21-22

Then his wife said to him, “Do you still hold fast your integrity? Curse God and die.” But he said to her, “You speak as one of the foolish women would speak. Shall we receive good from God, and shall we not receive evil?” In all this Job did not sin with his lips. —Job 2:9-10

After this Job opened his mouth and cursed the day of his birth. —Job 3:1

Why did I not die at birth, come out from the womb and expire? —Job 3:11

The Book of Job starts out with God saying of Job to Satan— “Have you considered my servant Job, that there is none like him on the earth, a blameless and upright man, who fears God and turns away from evil?”  Job is a God follower, not a Satan follower— not in “the trap of the devil, who has taken (others) captive to do his will” (II Timothy 2:26).  Satan desired to change that!

But even when God allowed Satan to take away from Job his oxen and donkeys, his sheep and servants, his camels and servants, his sons and daughters, his own health and the support of his wife— Job worship God and did not sin or charge God with wrong.  Is that your attitude?

Job was suffering, not because he had done anything wrong.  On the contrary, Satan had targeted him because, as God said of Job— “Have you considered my servant Job, that there is none like him on the earth, a blameless and upright man, who fears God and turns away from evil?”  Satan sought to subvert the servant of God, turn him from God, ensnare him to do his will.  This is why are told to “Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.  Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that the family of believers throughout the world is undergoing the same kind of sufferings” (I Peter 5:6-9).  We need to understand this “in order that Satan might not outwit us. For we are not unaware of his schemes” (II Corinthians 2:11).  He is working world-wide, seeking to take down those who follow our Lord God Almighty.

We live in a fallen, sinful world.  Our lives here transition to glory through death.  That’s all death is for a follower of Jesus— a transition to glory!  In this fallen world we experience many things.  There is great sadness, conflict, discouragement, injustice, depression, sickness and death.  Sin permeates all of creation.  Job was so impacted by all that happened to him that he “cursed the day of his birth” and wished he had not been born.  Ever feel like that?

You might not understand the whys behind what is happening in your life, but will you trust God with that which you don’t understand?  Oh, Dear Father, may I trust You with the so much I do not understand.  Thank You that You have given me all I need to know for now.  May I be faithful in that by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son Jesus as I look to be finally home with Jesus and all who love Him!  Oh, I so look forward to that perfect place with my Savior! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U6xkrOpECr0
