REDEEMED!
No one can redeem the life of another or give to God a ransom for them— the ransom for a life is costly, no payment is ever enough— so that they should live on forever and not see decay…. But God will redeem me from the realm of the dead; he will surely take me to himself. —Psalm 48:7-9, 15
Now all has been heard; here is the conclusion of the matter: Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the duty of all mankind. For God will bring every deed into judgment, including every hidden thing, whether it is good or evil. —Ecclesiastes 12:13-14
For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sake he became poor, so that you through his poverty might become rich. —II Corinthians 8:9
Sin is an eternal issue and no man “can redeem the life of another or give to God a ransom for them— the ransom for a life is costly, no payment is ever enough— so that they should live on forever and not see decay.” What cost or payment could redeem and does redeem a life? Jesus “himself bore our sins” in his body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; “by his wounds you have been healed” (I Peter 2:24). Healed from the eternally sinful snakebit of Satan (Genesis chapter 3) —
“For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your ancestors, but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect. He was chosen before the creation of the world, but was revealed in these last times for your sake. Through him you believe in God, who raised him from the dead and glorified him, and so your faith and hope are in God.” —I Peter 1:18-21
The human race is spiritually bankrupt, deep in sinful poverty and yet “you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sake he became poor, so that you through his poverty might become rich.” Yes, Jesus came to this sinful, wicked earth to save anyone who calls on His Name (Romans 10:13). When a person calls on Jesus, they escape their wicked spiritual poverty and become eternally rich in Jesus! And so, “Now all has been heard; here is the conclusion of the matter: Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the duty of all mankind. For God will bring every deed into judgment, including every hidden thing, whether it is good or evil.” Yes indeed, “Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account” (Hebrews 4:13).
Dear Father, out of eternal gratitude, may I live a life that is pleasing to You by the power of your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son Jesus. May it be for Your glory and the benefit of many others. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cf-JsNVcNLc&list=RDCf-JsNVcNLc&start_radio=1 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZD6khv6pGkw
