GENERATIONAL IMPACT!

The secret things belong to the Lord our God, but the things revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we may follow all the words of this law. —Deuteronomy 29:29

He decreed statutes for Jacob and established the law in Israel, which he commanded our ancestors to teach their children, so the next generation would know them, even the children yet to be born, and they in turn would tell their children.  Then they would put their trust in God and would not forget his deeds but would keep his commands. —Psalm 78:5-7

             There are some things, many things, that the Lord our God has chosen not to reveal to us.  We must trust Him for those things we do not understand.  But He has revealed to us and our children what we need to know and what we are to be obedient to.

             We (generation 1) are to be faithful in teaching our children (generation 2) that they in turn would teach their children (generation 3) and so forth to successive generations.  This passing on of God’s Word from generation to generation is so that those generations coming after us “would put their trust in God and would not forget his deeds but would keep his commands.”  So, how are you and I doing in passing on God’s Word to the next generation in such a way that they would do the same to the generation after them?

Dear Father, may we be faithful in sharing Your Word with the generations that follow us while we are alive that in turn they would be prepared to do so with the generations after them.  Yes, may this be so by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son Jesus my Lord.
