GOOD NEWS!  JESUS ROSE FROM THE DEAD!

As the crowds increased, Jesus said, “This is a wicked generation. It asks for a sign, but none will be given it except the sign of Jonah. —Luke 11:29

For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of a huge fish, so the Son of Man will be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth. —Matthew 12:40

Today is Easter of 2026— resurrection day!  We celebrate Who Jesus is and what He has done.  His resurrection proves He is the Son of God—

“Paul, a servant of Christ Jesus, called to be an apostle and set apart for the gospel of God—the gospel he promised beforehand through his prophets in the Holy Scriptures regarding his Son, who as to his earthly life was a descendant of David, and who through the Spirit of holiness was appointed the Son of God in power by his resurrection from the dead: Jesus Christ our Lord.” —Romans 1:1-4

Jesus foretold His resurrection many times and He did so very early in His earthly ministry—

“The Jews then responded to him, “What sign can you show us to prove your authority to do all this?”  Jesus answered them, “Destroy this temple, and I will raise it again in three days.”  They replied, “It has taken forty-six years to build this temple, and you are going to raise it in three days?” But the temple he had spoken of was his body. After he was raised from the dead, his disciples recalled what he had said. Then they believed the scripture and the words that Jesus had spoken.” —John 2:18-22

Jesus gave them the sign of Jonah— “For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of a huge fish, so the Son of Man will be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.”  And just as Jonah was resurrected from the belly of the fish, so Jesus would be resurrected from the belly of the tomb.  He gave the sign, but they would not accept it even after it happened.  This is no surprise as Jesus had said, “If they do not listen to Moses and the Prophets, they will not be convinced even if someone rises from the dead” (Luke 16:31).

Brothers and sisters, dear fellow followers/disciples of Jesus, “But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name” (John 20:31).  And Jesus said, “If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free” (John 8:31-32).  Let us rejoice for “Christ has indeed been raised from the dead” (I Corinthians 15:20).  Amen!

Thank You, Dear Father, that just as Jesus was raised from the dead and returned to glory with You, so also, I will.  Until then, may I live faithfully for You and share this good news of Jesus with all I can.  May this be so by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son Jesus. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d7PRGMQxNcM&list=RDd7PRGMQxNcM&start_radio=1
