OUR LORD WORKS THROUGH WHOEVER HE DESIRES TO!
OUR LORD WORKS THROUGH WHOEVER HE DESIRES TO!
This is what the Lord says to his anointed, to Cyrus, whose right hand I take hold of to subdue nations before him and to strip kings of their armor, to open doors before him so that gates will not be shut: I will go before you and will level the mountains; I will break down gates of bronze and cut through bars of iron. I will give you hidden treasures, riches stored in secret places, so that you may know that I am the Lord, the God of Israel, who summons you by name. For the sake of Jacob my servant, of Israel my chosen, I summon you by name and bestow on you a title of honor, though you do not acknowledge me. I am the Lord, and there is no other; apart from me there is no God. I will strengthen you, though you have not acknowledged me, so that from the rising of the sun to the place of its setting people may know there is none besides me. I am the Lord, and there is no other. 7I form the light and create darkness, I bring prosperity and create disaster; I, the Lord, do all these things. —Isaiah 45:1-7
From the east I summon a bird of prey; from a far-off land, a man to fulfill my purpose. What I have said, that I will bring about; what I have planned, that I will do. —Isaiah 46:11
Our Lord can work through whomever He desires. Here, He is summoning and anointing King Cyrus to accomplish His purposes. Even though He is “the Lord, and there is no other; apart from me there is no God,” King Cyrus does not acknowledge the Lord. But this does not hinder our Lord for working through this King to accomplish His purposes. Our Lord said, “From the east I summon a bird of prey; from a far-off land, a man to fulfill my purpose. What I have said, that I will bring about; what I have planned, that I will do.” We can depend on the Word of God. What He says, He will do. We can absolutely, 100% count on that!
Even though these words were written about King Cyrus about 250 years previously, they came to pass. In the Book of Ezra, in the first verse we read, “In the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, in order to fulfill the word of the Lord spoken by Jeremiah, the Lord moved the heart of Cyrus king of Persia to make a proclamation throughout his realm…” Yes, our Lord moved a King that did not know Him to accomplish the work He desires. He did that then and He can and does do that now. So, regardless of who is ruling whatever country at any time, let us trust our Lord is working out His plan. Yes, Dear Father, may we trust You to accomplish what You desire by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son Jesus. Yes, may this be so! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LoqUbgDdHV8
