THE TRANSFROMING OF ORDINARY, EVERYDAY PEOPLE
THE TRANSFORMING OF ORDINARY, EVERYDAY PEOPLE
Then Amos answered and said to Amaziah, “I was no prophet, nor a prophet’s son, but I was a herdsman and a dresser of sycamore figs.” —Amos 7:14
“Amen! Blessing and glory and wisdom and thanksgiving and honor and power and might be to our God forever and ever! Amen.” —Revelation 7:12
For the Lamb in the midst of the throne will be their shepherd, and he will guide them to springs of living water, and God will wipe away every tear from their eyes. —Revelation 7:17
Amos was an ordinary, everyday man. God called Him to be a prophet when he “was a herdsman and a dresser of sycamore figs.” Yes, he was involved in husbandry and was also an arborist. Pretty common occupations of the time. God works through ordinary people.
He takes ordinary people and transforms them supernaturally into those who are constrained, motivated to lovingly and willing desiring to do His will. He does this to show that all “Blessing and glory and wisdom and thanksgiving and honor and power and might be to our God forever and ever! Amen.” As a follower of Jesus, look what He has done in your life. Look how He has transformed you thus far for what you used to me. That transformation will continue for the rest of your life on this earth.
And then we will be with the Lamb Who is “in the midst of the throne (and He) will be their shepherd, and he will guide them to springs of living water, and God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.” Oh, glorious day! All the pain and sorrow connected with this fallen, sinful world will be gone and there will only be that with is righteous and good. Dear Father, I am so looking forward to that day to be with Jesus and all who love Him. Until then, may I live faithfully for You by Your Holy Spirit’s power and in the authority of Your Son Jesus. Yes, so may this be! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V4dR_zuB3qk&list=RDV4dR_zuB3qk&start_radio=1
