KNOWING GOD
KNOWING GOD
For I desire steadfast love and not sacrifice, the knowledge of God rather than burnt offerings. —Hosea 6:6
Jesus said that the greatest command was to ‘“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment” (Matthew 22:37). Yes, God desires a steadfast loving relationship with Him. Knowing God, being in relationship with Him, is the highest priority that can be known. Works are secondary. They are a result of a relationship with Him— “For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do” (Ephesians 2:10).
So, two questions…
- Is the Lord God Almighty, Creator and Sustainer of all things, Savior Messiah the foremost priority relationship in your life?
- How are you serving Him? What work has He called you to or is calling you to? Will you obey His will for you?
Dear Father, may You be the priority relationship in my life and may I be faithfully serving You according to Your desires for me. May this be so by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son Jesus. Yes, may it be so! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vSAN5ObaRQg
