FEAR!

FEAR!

The LORD kills and brings to life; he brings down to Sheol and raises up. The LORD makes poor and makes rich; he brings low and he exalts. —I Samuel 2:6-7

I tell you, my friends, do not fear those who kill the body, and after that have nothing more that they can do. But I will warn you whom to fear: fear him who, after he has killed, has authority to cast into hell. Yes, I tell you, fear him! —Luke 12:4-5

And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life? —Luke 12:25

Life— how long will you live?  Wealth— how much will we have?  Station in life— What will I be?  Fear— Whom should I fear?  Anxiety— Why should I be anxious?

He has our days in His hands and so “which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life?”  We can rest in Him.  He knows the number of our days— “Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be” (Psalm 139:16).

“Our days may come to seventy years, or eighty, if our strength endures; yet the best of them are but trouble and sorrow, for they quickly pass, and we fly away.  If only we knew the power of your anger!  Your wrath is as great as the fear that is your due.  Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.” —Psalm 90:10-12

We are not to fear man— ““The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid.  What can mere mortals do to me?” (Hebrews 13:6).  “But I will warn you whom to fear: fear him who, after he has killed, has authority to cast into hell. Yes, I tell you, fear him!”  We need to have the proper attitude toward our Lord who is Sovereign over all— life and death and everything.  So let us have the proper perspective on Who to truly fear!  Yes, Dear Father, may this be so by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son Jesus.  So be it! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q24z4XcJxnM
