OUR ALL IN ALL— ADONAI— MY LORD

OUR ALL IN ALL—ADONAI— MY LORD

The LORD said to Moses, “See, I have called by name Bezalel the son of Uri, son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah, and I have filled him with the Spirit of God, with ability and intelligence, with knowledge and all craftsmanship, to devise artistic designs, to work in gold, silver, and bronze, in cutting stones for setting, and in carving wood, to work in every craft. —31:1-5

And he said, “My presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.” And he said to him, “If your presence will not go with me, do not bring us up from here. For how shall it be known that I have found favor in your sight, I and your people? Is it not in your going with us, so that we are distinct, I and your people, from every other people on the face of the earth?” And the LORD said to Moses, “This very thing that you have spoken I will do, for you have found favor in my sight, and I know you by name.” —Exodus 33:14:17

Now while the Pharisees were gathered together, Jesus asked them a question, saying, “What do you think about the Christ? Whose son is he?” They said to him, “The son of David.” He said to them, “How is it then that David, in the Spirit, calls him Lord, saying, “‘The Lord said to my Lord, Sit at my right hand, until I put your enemies under your feet’? If then David calls him Lord, how is he his son?” And no one was able to answer him a word, nor from that day did anyone dare to ask him any more questions. —Matthew 22:41-46

It is our Lord God Almighty who, by His Spirit, gives ability, intelligence, knowledge, craftsmanship to create.  What was true for Bezalel is true of every follower of Jesus.  Who you are and what you can create is because of our Lord calling us and gifting us.  Now may we be faithful with what we are and what we have been given!

Not only has He given us so much, but He has also promised those following Jesus that He would always be with us!  What was true with Moses is also true of us.  We can depend on His continual presence— “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you” (Hebrews 13:5).  His presence is what makes us distinct “from every other people on the face of the earth.”  Let us rejoice!  Jesus said, “And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age” (Matthew 28:20).  We can count on His presence!  We are not ever alone!

And who is this one who gives us so much and will never leave us?  He is the Christ, the son of David and our Lord.  When Jesus asked—

“What do you think about the Christ? Whose son is he?” They said to him, “The son of David.” He said to them, “How is it then that David, in the Spirit, calls him Lord, saying, “‘The Lord said to my Lord, Sit at my right hand, until I put your enemies under your feet’? If then David calls him Lord, how is he his son?”

The Pharisees, nor anyone, was able to answer Him.  But we have the answer as stated clearly in God’s Word.

“Paul, a servant of Christ Jesus, called to be an apostle and set apart for the gospel of God— the gospel he promised beforehand through his prophets in the Holy Scriptures regarding his Son, who as to his earthly life was a descendant of David, and who through the Spirit of holiness was appointed the Son of God in power by his resurrection from the dead: Jesus Christ our Lord.” —Romans 1:1-4

Yes, “The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth” (John 1:14).  “Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God” (John 1:12).

I thank You, Dear Father, for all You Are and for all You have done for me.  May I seek to live faithfully for You by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son Jesus.  Yes, so may that be!  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mUxI-ynsTnM
