LISTEN… LEARN… LIVE ACCORDING TO HIS WORD!

LISTEN… LEARN… LIVE ACCORDING TO HIS WORD!

And the LORD did according to the word of Moses. The frogs died out in the houses, the courtyards, and the fields. And they gathered them together in heaps, and the land stank. But when Pharaoh saw that there was a respite, he hardened his heart and would not listen to them, as the LORD had said. —Exodus 8:13-15

He was still speaking when, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them, and a voice from the cloud said, “This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased; listen to him.” —John 17:5

However, not to give offense to them, go to the sea and cast a hook and take the first fish that comes up, and when you open its mouth you will find a shekel. Take that and give it to them for me and for yourself.” —Matthew 17:27

Our Lord knows everything about everything, about every person, about every space, about every circumstance… “Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account” (Hebrews 4:13).  Our Lord told Peter to “cast a hook and take the first fish that comes up, and when you open its mouth you will find a shekel.”  Jesus even knew that particular “first fish” that Peter would catch would have a coin in its mouth which would be enough to pay the temple tax.  He knows all about you.

Jesus is all-knowing and we are told by our Father— “This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased; listen to him.”  We know very little.  He knows all.  Let us listen to Him and learn.  Then may we obey what He says.  Yes, may we listen… learn… and live… according to His Word.

Let us not be like Pharaoh.  He heard the Word of God and said he would heed the Word of God when he was in the midst of difficulty.  But when the difficulty passed, he would once again harden his heart against the Word of God.  Pharaoh listened… learned… and yet he would not yield and live according to the Word of God.  May we not be like that.

Our Lord knows what is best.  Let us listen and learn from Him.  Then may we be live obediently, doing His will and not be hard-hearted, resisting His will.  Oh Dear Father, may I listen, learn and live according to the guidance of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son and my Lord Jesus.  Yes, may this be so!  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9zaaiFp4RSM&list=RD9zaaiFp4RSM&start_radio=1
