JESUS WILL HAVE THE FINAL WORD!
“Behold, the Lord comes with ten thousands of his holy ones, to execute judgment on all and to convict all the ungodly of all their deeds of ungodliness that they have committed in such an ungodly way, and of all the harsh things that ungodly sinners have spoken against him.” —Jude 1:14-15
But you must remember, beloved, the predictions of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ. They said to you, “In the last time there will be scoffers, following their own ungodly passions.” It is these who cause divisions, worldly people, devoid of the Spirit. But you, beloved, building yourselves up in your most holy faith and praying in the Holy Spirit, keep yourselves in the love of God, waiting for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ that leads to eternal life. —Jude 1:17-21
“In the last time there will be scoffers, following their own ungodly passions.” This is a common theme in God’s Word—
“The Spirit clearly says that in later times some will abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons. Such teachings come through hypocritical liars, whose consciences have been seared as with a hot iron. They forbid people to marry and order them to abstain from certain foods, which God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and who know the truth.” —I Timothy 4:1-3
“Above all, you must understand that in the last days scoffers will come, scoffing and following their own evil desires. They will say, “Where is this ‘coming’ he promised? Ever since our ancestors died, everything goes on as it has since the beginning of creation.” But they deliberately forget that long ago by God’s word the heavens came into being and the earth was formed out of water and by water. By these waters also the world of that time was deluged and destroyed. By the same word the present heavens and earth are reserved for fire, being kept for the day of judgment and destruction of the ungodly.” —II Peter 3:3-7
The Apostles predicted what these people would be like—
- They are ungodly
- They do ungodly deeds
- They do harsh things
- They speak against our Lord
- They are scoffers
- They follow their ungodly passions
- They cause divisions
- They are worldly people
- They are devoid of the Spirit
- They will abandon the faith
- They will follow deceiving spirits
- They will follow things taught by demons
- They will follow hypocritical liars
- They will follow those with no conscience
- They forbid to marry
- They forbid to eat certain foods
- They follow their own evil ways
- They mock His coming
- The deliberately forget that God is the Creator
- They deliberately forget the world-wide flood
- The deliberately reject there’s a coming judgment
Does this sound familiar? It will get worse… Beloved, fret not, because Jesus is coming “with ten thousands of his holy ones, to execute judgment on all and to convict all the ungodly…” So be not anxious. One day Jesus is going to set all things right! In the meantime, we are to build ourselves “up in your most holy faith and praying in the Holy Spirit, keep yourselves in the love of God, waiting for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ that leads to eternal life.” We will see Jesus when He comes to earth or we leave earth to go to Him. We will see Jesus! All things will be made new! Rejoice!
