EAGERLY WAITING FOR JESUS!
And just as it is appointed for man to die once, and after that comes judgment, so Christ, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time, not to deal with sin but to save those who are eagerly waiting for him. —Hebrews 9:27-28
And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near. —Hebrews 10:24-25
For, “Yet a little while, and the coming one will come and will not delay; but my righteous one shall live by faith, and if he shrinks back, my soul has no pleasure in him.” But we are not of those who shrink back and are destroyed, but of those who have faith and preserve their souls. —Hebrews 10:37-39
Are you eagerly waiting for Jesus to come? Are you encouraging others “and all the more as you see the Day drawing near?” Be sure, “the coming one will come and will not delay.” Yes, Jesus will come to this earth again and it may be very soon. But, either way—
- Are you eager waiting to see Jesus?
- Are you living in such a way that at the Judgment Seat of Christ you will hear “Well done, good and faithful servant?”
- Are you considering how you can stir others up to be more loving?
- Are you considering how you can stir up others to do good works?
- Are you neglecting or not neglecting to meet together with other believers?
- Are you encouraging others?
- Are you doing these things more as you see the Day approaching?
- Are you expectant that Jesus will come?
- Are you living by faith?
- Are you “shrinking back?”
- Are you persevering?
Again, are you eagerly waiting for Jesus to return and are you focused on what He wants us focused on? Or, are we focused on what we want to be focused on? Oh, Dear Father, may we be focused on what You desire us to be focused on. Yes, that this would be the case in the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son Jesus.
