NO LONGER SLAVES, BUT WE ARE FREE!

NO LONGER SLAVES, BUT WE ARE FREE!

For freedom Christ has set us free; stand firm therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery. —Galatians 5:1

For you were called to freedom, brothers. Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another. —Galatians 5:13

And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up. —Galatians 6:9

Jesus has set us free from the power of sin, Satan, slavery, fear of death and saved us to a freedom in Himself.  He has given us that freedom to serve others out of the motivation of love for Him and love for people.  We are not to use that freedom in Jesus “as an opportunity for the flesh” to fulfill its lusts which are: “sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like” (Galatians 5:19-21).  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QANH8MWuyaE

No, we are to walk in the freedom of His Holy Spirit, bearing the fruit of the Spirit which “is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law“ (Galatians 5:22:23).  This is a constant decision making process for the followers of Jesus as “the flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh.  they are in conflict with each other, so that you are not to do whatever you want” (Galatians 5:17).  Moment by moment we need to yield to His Holy Spirit.

So let us yield to His will and not our own.  Our will needs to line up with His Will according to His Word as His Holy Spirit guides us.  So let that be the case today, moment by moment, and for the rest of our lives.  And, as we do “not grow weary in doing good… for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.”  So run the race with perseverance that He has marked out for you and me, keeping our eyes fixed on Jesus who is the author and finisher of our faith (Hebrews 12:1-2).  Yes, Dear Father, may this be so by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son Jesus.  So may it be!  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_MbcYyOsF50
