NO EXCUSE FOR DENYING GOD’S EXISTENCE
For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them. For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse. —Romans 1:19-20
Therefore God gave them up in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, to the dishonoring of their bodies among themselves, because they exchanged the truth about God for a lie and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever! Amen. —Romans 1;24-25
There is not a person on the planet that has an excuse for not believing God exists. Why is that? It is because God has made it plain to all people that He does exist. How has He done that? He has done that by making it very apparent “ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made.”
Look at a painting and you know there was someone who painted that painting. Look at a building and you know someone built that building. Look at a loaf of bread and you know someone made that bread. All of these things had a creator for it to be created. Nothing man makes has life.
But when you look around the earth and into the heavens you see all kinds of things that bear witness that God exists. Land animals, fish and fowl, vegetation and man all prove the existence of God. All these have life. Man cannot make things from scratch that have life, but God did and does. Has man made an animal? No and he never will. Has man made a fish? No and he never will. Has man made fish and fowl? No and he never will. Has man made vegetation? No and he never will. Has man made a man? No and he never will. Oh, man can manipulate that which is already living, but he cannot make life.
So why does man deny the existence of God and his responsibility to Him? It is because of the “wickedness of men who suppress the truth by their wickedness” (Romans 1:18). And so, God gives man up to their lustful and impure heart’s desires. As a lustful man seeks to live without God, “they exchanged the truth about God for a lie and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever! Amen.” That is why—
- Governments are corrupt
- Government leaders are corrupt
- Children are slaughtered in the womb
- Homosexuality is normalized
- Youth are destroyed through gender transitions
- Youth are destroyed through sex trafficking
- God’s design for family is constantly attacked
- Anti-God, Anti-Christ actions are normalized
- Demonic deceptions are readily accepted
- Demonically induced mental illness is sharply rising
And the list goes on and on. Yes, when man does not want to follow God and His ways then “they invent new forms of evil” (Romans 1:30) and believe lies. We are seeing our culture slide quickly down the slippery slope of evil into the darkness of demonic deception and will continue to do so without the Light and Truth of God.
Dear Father, in a world that does not want to acknowledge You are the Creator, may I be faithful to proclaim the Light of Your Word, the Good News of Jesus.
