BELIEVING JESUS IS HE WILL OF GOD!

BELIEVING JESUS IS THE WILL OF GOD!

And they watched Jesus, to see whether he would heal him on the Sabbath, so that they might accuse him. —Mark 3:2

And he answered them, “Who are my mother and my brothers?” And looking about at those who sat around him, he said, “Here are my mother and my brothers! For whoever does the will of God, he is my brother and sister and mother.” —Mark 3:33-35

Oh sing to the LORD a new song; sing to the LORD, all the earth! Sing to the LORD, bless his name; tell of his salvation from day to day. Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous works among all the peoples! For great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised; he is to be feared above all gods. For all the gods of the peoples are worthless idols, but the LORD made the heavens. —Psalm 96:1-5

As we encourage others toward the Lord and encourage them to do “the will of God,” there will be those who will look to accuse us of what they think is wrong-doing.  Knowing there are those who will do so should not keep us from doing what is right in God’s sight.  Jesus was being watched carefully by those who wanted to accuse Him of wrong-doing.  But this did not keep Jesus from doing what was right in His Father’s sight.  And that is what really counts!

It is those who do “the will of God” that are Jesus’ “brother and sister and mother.”  The family of God is known by doing the will of God.  How do we know the will of God?  By listening and doing the Word of God.

“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven… Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, its because it had foundation on the rock. But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand.  The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.” —Matthew 7:21, 24-27

So let us “sing to the Lord” and “tell of his salvation from day to day. Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous works among all the peoples! For great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised; he is to be feared above all gods. For all the gods of the peoples are worthless idols, but the LORD made the heavens.”  He alone is true and everything else people are looking to as their god “are worthless idols.”  Jesus Himself said, “I am the way, the truth and the life, no one comes to the Father except through me” (John 14:6).  Also, in Acts 4:12 we read, “Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.”  This is the will of God and taking a stand as such will bring accusations.  But let us “run with perseverance the race marked out for us, keeping our eyes fixed on Jesus” (Hebrews 12:1-2).  Yes, Dear Father, may I do so by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son Jesus. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PcmqSfr1ENY
