But a certain man drew his bow at random and struck the king of Israel between the scale armor and the breastplate. Therefore he said to the driver of his chariot, “Turn around and carry me out of the battle, for I am wounded.” And the battle continued that day, and the king of Israel was propped up in his chariot facing the Syrians until evening. For not from the east or from the west and not from the wilderness comes lifting up, but it is God who executes judgment, putting down one and lifting up another. —Psalm 75:6-7
HEAVEN…
-We will see Jesus!
-We will be with all those who love Jesus.
-We will not experience conflict anymore.
-We will not know sorrow anymore.
-We will not suffer pain anymore.
-We will not know death anymore.
-We will not shed tears anymore.
-We will only know righteousness, peace, love and joy forever and ever!
You know that feeling you have, that longing you have, that joy you have when you are away from home, but now you are only a few miles from home… almost home… Oh, the older I get the more and more I look forward to being… home— the place Jesus is preparing for us! It is getting closer!
In the meantime, brother and sister, fellow follower of Jesus, do not fret over evil doers. It is our Lord who is “putting down one and lifting up another.” He it is who “executes judgment” and it can come in various forms— it can be a storm (Job 37:13), it can be by famine, war, plague (I Chronicles 21:12) or, as stated above, it can be by an arrow short by random. God is ultimately sovereign over all things. He either brings these things directly or allows them to happen. So yes, God can use many things to bring judgment, even fire… which will be the final judgment of this world (II Peter 3:7) and of man (Revelation 20:14-15).
For we who believe, we need not worry about battles because “the battle is not yours but God’s.” We are in His Kingdom and He is our King. None can stay His hand— “All the peoples of the earth are regarded as nothing. He does as he pleases with the powers of heaven and the peoples of the earth. No one can hold back his hand or say to him: “What have you done?” (Daniel 4:35).
“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off every encumbrance and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with endurance the race set out for us. Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.” —Hebrews 12:1-2
Yes, our Lord God Almighty will accomplish His purposes. Nothing and nobody will stop Him.
