OUR AWESOME GOD!

OUR AWESOME GOD!

For he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever. —II Chronicles 5:13

But will God indeed dwell with man on the earth? Behold, heaven and the highest heaven cannot contain you, how much less this house that I have built! —II Chronicles 6:18

May his name endure forever, his fame continue as long as the sun! May people be blessed in him, all nations call him blessed! —Psalm 72:17

God is only good.  There is no evil in him whatsoever.  When men have a wrong view of God it is because of their sinful, fallen nature thinking perversely.  Not only is He good, but “his steadfast love endures forever.”  Why would a person not want to bask in His love?  Again, it is because of the sinful, fallen and perverse nature of man that he would not.

God is so awesome that even all of heaven cannot contain Him.  Look out at the universe.  It cannot contain Him.  He is the One who created it!  Still, “will God indeed dwell with man on the earth?”  Astoundingly the answer is yes.  He did in the Garden of Eden when He was “walking in the garden in the cool of the day” (Genesis 3:8).  He was with Abraham to announce the destruction of Sodom and to announce that barren Sarah would have a child in a year (Genesis 18).

Other times He walked with men as well.  But then came Jesus who dwelt among men for 33 years with 3 years of public ministry.  Astoundingly that “The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth” (John 1:14).  “He appeared in the flesh, was vindicated by the Spirit, was seen by angels, was preached among the nations, was believed on in the world, was taken up in glory” (I Timothy 3:16).  How awesome is that!

We are blessed in Him!  May other “people be blessed in him, all nations call him blessed!”  Yes, may we be witnesses in all the earth (Acts 1:8) until the gospel goes out into all the world (Matthew 24:14) and disciples are made in all nations (Matthew 28:18-20).  Yes, Dear Father, may this be so by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son Jesus.  So be it! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FLX83HbefrI&list=PLnt4SVYi40LxM2FaykKNfTCyP9V-smjM-
