THIS LIFE WILL SOON PASS AND ONLY WHAT WE DO THROUGH JESUS WILL LAST

I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. —John 15:5
I can do all this through him who gives me strength. —Philippians 4:13
Brothers and sisters, fellow followers of Jesus, we cannot do anything apart from Jesus. Our Father said, “This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased. Listen to him!” (Matthew 17:5). Are we listening to Jesus? He guides and speaks to us through His Holy Spirit— “But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come” (John 16:13). Are we listening and following His guidance.
We do not live as Jesus’ disciples on our own. Jesus said, “And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” We are on mission with Jesus! “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you” (Hebrews 13:5) and “So we say with confidence, ‘The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?”’ This is why “With God we shall do valiantly” because it is He who is at work in us and through us. Again, Jesus said, “apart from me you can do nothing.”
He has called us to “bear much fruit.” But we can only do this as we depend on Him for the strength to be and do what He desires. We are to “throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith” (Hebrews 12:1-2). So let us run this race He has for us and keep our eyes fixed on Jesus. Don’t get your eyes off Jesus onto circumstances or people that will sway you from running this race He has marked out for you. Not everyone will understand the race He has for you. They may even try to hinder you. Satan surely will try to hinder you and he many times works through people to do that. So, keep your “eyes fixed on Jesus” and “With God we shall do valiantly” for His honor and glory and for the benefit of others and ourselves!
