WHEN FACING DEATH, TRUST OUR LORD GOD ALMIGHTY!

If this be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of your hand, O king. But if not, be it known to you, O king, that we will not serve your gods or worship the golden image that you have set up. —Daniel 3:17-18

 Nebuchadnezzar answered and said, “Blessed be the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, who has sent his angel and delivered his servants, who trusted in him, and set aside the king’s command, and yielded up their bodies rather than serve and worship any god except their own God. —Daniel 3:28

Cast your burden on the LORD, and he will sustain you; he will never permit the righteous to be moved… But I will trust in you. —Psalm 55:22-23

In the face of death, death in a burning furnace, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego would not bow the knee to any idol.  These three men knew that the Lord God Almighty could “deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of your hand, O king. But if not, be it known to you, O king, that we will not serve your gods or worship the golden image that you have set up.”  From the natural viewpoint these men were as good as dead, but they knew their God could do the supernatural, if He desired to, and save them from death.  But if He did not save them from death, these three still trusted in Him and would not deny their faith.

And saved them, He did!  The king was amazed and said, “Blessed be the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, who has sent his angel and delivered his servants, who trusted in him, and set aside the king’s command, and yielded up their bodies rather than serve and worship any god except their own God.”

These three willingly “yielded up their bodies rather than serve and worship any god except their own God.”  They were willing to die rather than serve some other god.  They surely “cast (their) burden on the LORD” and He did sustain them.  Yes, even in the face of death they trusted in our Lord God Almighty.  May we do the same!  Yes, Dear Father, may it be so by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son Jesus! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U3YGczmlbV8
