THIS IS A GODLY WOMAN

THIS IS A GODLY WOMAN

When the righteous increase, the people rejoice, but when the wicked rule, the people groan. —Proverbs 29:2

Bloodthirsty men hate one who is blameless and seek the life of the upright. —Proverbs 29:10

If a ruler listens to falsehood, all his officials will be wicked. —Proverbs 29:12

If a king faithfully judges the poor, his throne will be established forever. —Proverbs 29:14

When the wicked increase, transgression increases, but the righteous will look upon their downfall. —Proverbs 29:16

An excellent wife who can find? She is far more precious than jewels. The heart of her husband trusts in her, and he will have no lack of gain. She does him good, and not harm, all the days of her life. She seeks wool and flax, and works with willing hands. She is like the ships of the merchant; she brings her food from afar. She rises while it is yet night and provides food for her household and portions for her maidens. She considers a field and buys it; with the fruit of her hands she plants a vineyard. She dresses herself with strength and makes her arms strong. She perceives that her merchandise is profitable. Her lamp does not go out at night. She puts her hands to the distaff, and her hands hold the spindle. She opens her hand to the poor and reaches out her hands to the needy. She is not afraid of snow for her household, for all her household are clothed in scarlet. She makes bed coverings for herself; her clothing is fine linen and purple. Her husband is known in the gates when he sits among the elders of the land. She makes linen garments and sells them; she delivers sashes to the merchant. Strength and dignity are her clothing, and she laughs at the time to come. She opens her mouth with wisdom, and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue. She looks well to the ways of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness. Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: “Many women have done excellently, but you surpass them all.”  Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised. Give her of the fruit of her hands, and let her works praise her in the gates. —Proverbs 31:10-31

In a day when wicked men and women cannot or will not even define what a woman is, God’s definition has not changed.  People groan under the weight of the wicked’s wickedness.  The simple and obvious to the godly are complicated and unintelligible to the wicked.  The wicked so want to hold onto their ungodly ideas that they become bloodthirsty and when that happens, we get tyrants like Hitler, Stalin and so many others from the pages of history.  These rulers listen to the liars around them, those wicked counselors.  Wicked rulers do not faithfully judge.  Instead, wicked people increase around them and sinful activity also increases.  Such is the present state of the United States.  We are slipping into deeper satanic darkness.

I will stick with God’s definition of a godly woman.  How fortunate I am to be married to one such woman.  I read through this excellent wife description from Proverbs 31 and I can easily see my lovely wife in the Biblical description.  And I also see my daughters following in the path of their mother in being godly women.  Now may our granddaughters follow in their mother’s footsteps and be godly women as well!  Yes, Dear Father, may this be so by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son Jesus.  May all our grandchildren follow You!  Oh, Lord, they each need Your power, Your wisdom, Your favor— may You give it to them for Your glory and for the benefit of many others.  So may it be! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QbUQcbh4TF0
