THE ROTTEN FRUIT OF TRUSTING SELF
You have plowed iniquity; you have reaped injustice; you have eaten the fruit of lies. Because you have trusted in your own way and in the multitude of your warriors. —Hosea 10:13
Those that trust in themselves and not our Lord will—
- Plow iniquity
- Reap injustice
- Eat the fruit of their own lies
We can see how this is worked out in our own culture and in the world. Sin is breaking up the ground of what is right and good and is sowing all kinds of unrighteousness and evil. The weeds of injustices are growing and taking over the field of fidelity. Again, this can be seen when, as was mentioned before—
- There is no knowledge of God in the land
- There is swearing in the land
- There is lying in the land
- There is murder in the land
- There is stealing in the land
- There is adultery in the land
- There is a breaking of all bounds/restraints in the land
- There is bloodshed after bloodshed in the land
- There is spiritual whoredom in the land
These things are not just happening, but these wicked weeds are taking over. The field of fidelity and getting run over. But, we can take courage and have hope and peace as followers of Jesus because we know He is ultimately in control and He has given us the Blueprint for living life in this dark world— His Word, the Bible. So let us hold onto what He has to say and not the wicked weeds of the world. Yes, Dear Father, may this be so by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of You Dear Son, Jesus.
