HE IS OUR HELP!

HE IS OUR HELP!

For behold, I create new heavens and a new earth, and the former things shall not be remembered or come into mind. —Isaiah 65:17

I lift up my eyes to the hills. From where does my help come? My help comes from the LORD, who made heaven and earth. —Psalm 121:1-2

Brother and sister, fellow follower of Jesus, our “help comes from the LORD, who made heaven and earth.”  Whatever we are going through and wherever we are, the One who made heaven and earth is with us.  He is our help and what greater help could we desire than His?

But rejoice!  Keep your eyes on the One who created heaven and earth, knowing He is going to “create new heavens and a new earth, and the former things shall not be remembered or come into mind.”  All the conflict, all the sorrow, all the tears, all the pain, all the sickness, all the death— all the terrible, negative things will be forgotten.

“Then I saw “a new heaven and a new earth,” for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. ‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”  He who was seated on the throne said, “I am making everything new!” Then he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.”  He said to me: “It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To the thirsty I will give water without cost from the spring of the water of life. Those who are victorious will inherit all this, and I will be their God and they will be my children. But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars—they will be consigned to the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death.” —Revelation 21:1-8

So, this One who created the present heavens and earth, and will create a new heaven and earth, is the One who is our strength.  So let us rest in His strength, live in His strength and keep in mind where we are headed— to be with Jesus and all who love Him forever and for which the Apostle Paul said, “I desire to depart and be with Christ, which is better by far; but it is more necessary for you that I remain in the body” (Philippians 1:23-24).  Yes, let us have that mindset and “desire to depart and be with Christ, which is better by far.”  But also realizing, as the Apostle Paul did, that as long as we are on this planet it is to serve Him and help others (Philippians 1:21-26).  So, let us be others focused and not self-focused as long as we are living.  May this be so, Dear Father, by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son Jesus and all for Your Honor and glory. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TfiYWaeAcRw
