LISTEN, OBEY, SERVE

The Lord GOD has given me the tongue of those who are taught, that I may know how to sustain with a word him who is weary. Morning by morning he awakens; he awakens my ear to hear as those who are taught. The Lord GOD has opened my ear, and I was not rebellious; I turned not backward. —Isaiah 50:4-5

            It is the Lord that enables us to speak according to His desires.  He does this so we can encourage those who are weary.  Who is it today that our Lord desires you to encourage?  To be ready to encourage someone we need to spend time with our Lord and listen to what He says to us.  He is the One who prepares us to encourage the weary.

            Are we consistently spending time with our Lord to be ready to serve others we come into contact with?  Morning by morning is a discipline of the disciple.  The disciple desires to hear from his Master to be prepared for the day according to His desires.  Are you being disciplined in spending time with Him?  Or has the world gotten you so busy you do not focus on the One who is to be our first love (Matthew 22:37-40).

            Not only are we to listen to Him, but we are to be obedient to Him.  When He speaks to us, we are to be faithful to His desires.  We are to run forward with perseverance in the race He has marked out for us (Hebrews 12:1-2) and not go backward!  Are you listening to Him?  Are you learning from Him?  Are you serving as He guides?  Are you being obedient? Are you going forward or backward?  There is no standing still…  Oh, Dear Father, may we be faithful in the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son Jesus as we run the race you have marked out for us, serving as you desire.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pxoAfDg8_sk
