(Today’s fasting and prayer Scripture— John 10:1-21—- Jesus is our Good Shepherd, He is the door, He is our Guide, He is our Abundant Life, He lays down His life for the sheep. rises again and brings division.   This will be my prayer focus that I seek within the hour of 6am, 12pm and 6pm)

Blessed are those whose strength is in you…   O LORD of hosts, blessed is the one who trusts in you! —Psalm 84:5, 12

Oh, how happy are we, are those, who understand that their strength is not in themselves, but in our Lord!  “The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?” (Psalm 27:1)  The arrogant believe they are strong and powerful, but compared to the Lord… they are nothing and this is true of anyone who seeks to live in their own strength.  I much rather live according to the strength found in our Lord.  Living in His strength brings happiness.

This happiness that we followers of our Lord have is because we are trusting in our Lord and not in ourselves.  “People, despite their wealth, do not endure; they are like the beasts that perish.  This is the fate of those who trust in themselves, and of their followers, who approve their sayings” (Psalm 49:12-13).  So it is with all who trust in themselves— all they are and all they have is only temporary, but for us who trust in our Lord, we will be with Him forever!

He is the Good Shepherd that laid down His life at the cross and rose again so His sheep would trust Him and live in His strength and not their own.  Oh, what happiness this brings to know that we live in His strength now and will be with Him forever in the not too distant future!  Thank You, Dear Father for drawing me to Jesus.  Now may I truly live in the strength of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son and my Shepherd, Jesus.  Oh, may I encourage others to do the same.
